Can't get past Age Verification check

Question

Posted (edited)

Hi, I just have a little something to add here, it’s that I recently tried to sign in, but before I could see anything, the steps I had to take or any of that (I heard something in the forums about cache resetting?), I clicked the green I Am Of Age button over and over, and it’d flash, disappear for a moment, then reappear again and the whole back of the page would be dark again. I got rid of it with the Zapper element but it still meant the links on the upgrade complete tutorial were unclickable. It’s only because I had a thought of trying to visit the forums that I was able to come here and get further information. Now I need to figure out what the cache reset steps are, I still don’t know how to access that link or if someone has posted it here. I can access the forums but not the website proper.

Edit: Oh, and just going directly to the front page https://www2.adult-fanfiction.org/ just gives me a totally blank page.

Thank you for the answer. I used a different browser and now things seem to work, but there’s just one issue: when I try to sign on as an author, it tells me it’s sending a confirmation email to my email that I need to confirm before it’ll allow me to log-in, but I’ve waited a couple of hours and the email hasn’t arrived.

Are you checking your hotmail?  I show the account registered with a hotmail address.  In any case, I activated for you, so you should be able to login now, provided you’ve done all the cache clearing and what not.

Thank you! Yes, the email just never did arrive to my hotmail. Now however I’m afraid having another issue and it’s once again the regenerating age verification thing. It’s back and I can’t get past it. Already followed all the steps, cache clearing, close screen, force refresh. Following the https://www.adult-fanfiction.org./ link just puts me in the loop again. Using a laptop and the browser is firefox.

I’ll step it out for you here:

First thing, before you proceed.  DO NOT use anonymous browsing for this part.  You can go back to it afterwards.

Be sure to do this from the main page:  https://www.adult-fanfiction.org

  1.   No matter WHICH browser, you must clear cache and cookies for ALL TIME.  If you are using Apple products, you must clear cache in all your devices as the products link together.
  2.  After doing the clear, close and restart your browser.
  3.  Finally, you need to force refresh.  (Press Ctrl+F5)

That should fix the issues.  You should be able to proceed once you do that.

If you’re getting an error about activation, go to the register link and select the drop down option of “resend activation”.

Remember, major software changes generally do require this sort of action.

If, after all this, you’re still experiencing issues with the age verification, in Chrome/Edge, press F12 to access the console.  You’ll see the exact error being generated.  Let us know what it is.
