Guest pontaloon Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 This has been on my mind for a while. i tend to read alot of really obscene things when i'm on AFF or FF. things like incest, rape, non-con, drug use, sex with a minor... i later talk about it with my friends saying things like "twincest ftw!" or "i don't care if Harry Potter and Snape are 24 years appart, its still hot" then it his me. those things may be ok (*ahem* sexy as all hell *ahem*) in the world of fantasy, but if i go saying shit like that, people are going to think im really disturbed in the head. hhhmmmmmmmm... anyway, just wanted to know what other people thought was awesome in writting but totally wrong anywhere else Quote
greenwizard Posted October 3, 2008 Report Posted October 3, 2008 I don't think it should be wrong to talk about stories you like, but there are a lot of idiots out there. It makes my fantasy of taking over the world and executing everyone I deem an idiot to create a smarter human race seem just that much more appealing. Anyway, I ready a lot of 'out there' stuff too. It seems that 'normal' people can't wrap their mind around the difference between enjoying a story with rape and being a rapist yourself. Quote
Guest Zyx Posted October 7, 2008 Report Posted October 7, 2008 Meh, I think the only thing stopping me from doing twisted stuff like that is an indoctrinated sense of guilt. On the other hand: I think the only thing that turns me on about stuff like that is the taboo. Quote
Guest FlamesEmbrace Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Yeah, definitely. x_x Rape-related things are a good example... in real life, in visual porno, in movies, on Law and Order- it makes me feel physically ill. In drawn or written porn, it's hot. I can't explain it. D= Incest and, in certain cases, bestiality are also in that category- the latter especially is no good in real life, but in written media can rock. I don't know. xD Quote
greenwizard Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 Yeah, if someone can figure out why I get turned on by incest, rape, bestiality, and such in a story, but would never in a million years do it myself... they might win the Nobel Peace Prize or something. I like visual porn too. I just wouldn't do it myself. Quote
Keith Inc. Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 My three greatest fetishes are extremely tiny partners, extremely large partners (Gulliver's travels, Land of the giants, that sort of scale) and Mad Scientist Experiments. I think that such self-knowledge of what does turn me on, and what doesn't, is far more healthy than suppressing any taboo urges. But if you try to bring any of these up to the 'straights,' they do look at you oddly. I'm not sure if i'm the only one to find them appealing, or the only one in any given room willing to admit to 'off-off-off-off-mainstream' interests. So i don't bring them up any more. Either they do start to treat you as the odd one, or they break out their pictures of fur suited dwarf minotaur rodeo porn and the whole day is ruined. I strongly support any effort on your part to find: 1) what works for you 2) a place you can talk about it without being judged. Cause, like, most of your friendships probably aren't formed on the basis of a mutually hawt slash 'shipper interest. Accept it, move on. Oh, and when they say, 'I came across the weirdest goddamned story archive last night...' wait until you know if they approve or disapprove before admitting to being a moderator for that site. Quote

No one gets hurt. I mean, seriously, look at the news. And at Terminator movie. Arnold goes into a movie scene and empties 500 rounds into 30 terrorists, you cheer, right? Ralph Standers pumps 40 rounds into a fast food joint and the otherwise innocent people within, you get ill. If you see a pile of dead bloody bodies you probably can't react until you know if it was a Halloween trick or a Valentine's Day Slaughter. We are essentially gregarious, tribal-clan oriented creatures. We're conditioned not to hurt others. But if it's a story, if we know it's a story, if we can be sure that no amount of enjoying the story will cause any human being any discomfort, much less violate their rights or person, we're free to examine the idea independently of our social conditioning. DarkKennith Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 (edited) i just like using what you talk about aginst people who flit around beliving they are open minded. "jeese its just a story man, so what if i wrote about a 5 year old girl experimenting with her family champion stud golden retriever, you were the one who says all sexuality is beautfull and natural and its ok for kids to play sex games. seeshhhhhhhhh look whos narrow minded now. its just fiction man" I belive I really can use this. then again I guess I'd be "trollish" if i consider that dark. I'm a one trick pony. I'd call 'dark' the man who eats a baby while raping the mom (somehow) but someone else will call that sexy. and it is not PC to call them "warped" (I'm using paragraphs to break up train of thought) Oh yeah. two words "the aristocrats" I'd love to see peopel's reaction to reciting that in public. More so when Kids are around. not that It gets aroused. part of me thinks "it would be amusing" Edited November 2, 2008 by DarkKennith Quote

That's true in a way. That's why not a lot bothers me. But why does it turn me on? There are things that don't bother me because it's fiction, but I don't necessarily care for it. However, there are some things that really get me hot and bothered in a story that 'normal' people would find depraved and disgusting. I'll go out on a limb here and use an example. In a story, I get seriously hot and bothered by bathroom play. I don't know why. I came across it once and really got off on it. After I was done I went WTF....??? I've had wet dreams of doing it. I've thought about actually doing it, but got a little sick at that thought. No one would get hurt, but I don't want to. However, reading about Bobby and his big brother Rick having a piss drinking contest is the hottest thing ever. Why? I have no clue. I just go with it. I too think it's unhealthy to repress desires just to be normal. If you get off and nobody gets hurt who cares? Quote
Harley Quinn hyenaholic Posted November 3, 2008 Report Posted November 3, 2008 I just wrote a fic in which a Transformer was kept chained to a table for sex for two years. It was hot, especially when Bumblebee threw up in a corner. I'd never fuck hedgehogs or giant alien robots, or chain somebody to a table for two years or rape somebody. Or be gay. But for some reason, people say I'm sick for writing about it or occasionally fantasising that I'm an alien robot. What's their problem? I'm not doing it. My fantasies involve me as the same species as my partners. I don't go out and rape people. Save your revulsion for people who deserve it. Quote
Keith Inc. Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 What's their problem? I'm not doing it.I've written porn that actually squicks me off, personally, but I don't think most people can imagine writing porn that does not turn them on, that is not one of their own fantasies. They can't even wrap their heads around the idea of writing a story like that unless they really wanted to read a story like that.So if you admit to writing self-aware planet/spaceman vore amputee porn, they MUST believe that you're putting one of your fantasies on paper. or screen. And they imagine that they're in a room with a person that wants to be eaten by a planet, as a sexual fantasy, and they start counting the exits. Quote
Guest Majjic Mouse Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 Ok, I've had a little wine (well, a bottle) so I'll try and make this as clear as I can. I started on this FF thing approximately 3 months ago. I've never written before apart from some booshee semi-bio which went nowhere and is basically crap. But since starting FF I've written 3 FFs based on Dark Knight and the old DC comics. The first one I wrote from the POV of a psycho (Joker) with full-on personality changes, twisted and torn memories, graphic and extreme violence and gang-rape. The second one contains graphic violence, graphic sex scenes and incest. The third one is basically a comedy which is great fun to write. Now considering 3 months ago I wouldn't even pick up a porn mag without grimacing this is quite a sea-change. All I can say is fantasy is fantasy. Certainly some of the things I write about I wouldn't like to happen to me but we all have fantasies and as long as they remain as fantasies or consensual activities so what? And then again, some of the things my characters do come from a real internal longing to fuck people up in the worst way possible. I get it out of my system by writing about it. Some of the sickest, most depraved people I know (and believe me, I know a lot of very sick and depraved people) are the most wonderful, loveliest people you could meet. I would trust them with my life, so to those of you that are concerned - don't think that those with unacceptable fantasies are bad people. They're not. There's nothing wrong with having fucked up fantasies or even trying out fucked up things as long as it's consensual. And believe me, I've seen some shit in my life. Two of my friends have just had to do moonlight flits due to their partners stalking ,beating and yeah - raping - them. So - there's a difference. People like us understand there's a difference. And that's why there isn't a problem here. Quote

I like visual porn too. I just wouldn't do it myself. It could also be because it's not real. It's not called fantasy without a reason. To fantasize about something is different than actually acting out. I must admit that I like the same thing in fantasy, but I know it's not real. If it was real, then it would be quite disturbing. I like watching hentai, but real life porn disgusts me. A drawing is more appealing to me than flesh against flesh, because let's face it flesh is ugly, dirty, and altogether unappealing. So it could be because as a drawing it's cleaner. It leaves a lot to think about actually. Quote
Guest pixala Posted November 9, 2008 Report Posted November 9, 2008 I'm the same way. I enjoy writing and reading a lot of 'disturbing' stuff like non-con, abuse, incest and, well, pretty much everything that's out of the 'norm'. Come to think of it, I'm writing a pretty gory story about a serial killer and rapist. Somehow I think I'd end up in a psyche ward if anyone I knew in real life found it. I'd never do any of it in real life, of course. Because it's fantasy, it doesn't seem so disgusting or gross since everything's romanticized (for the lack of better term?). Quote
ReiLovesLennon9 Posted November 11, 2008 Report Posted November 11, 2008 I write a lot of rape and D/S fics where the victim falls in love with their attacker and the attacker was in love with the victim beforehand. I told that to a fellow writer of non-adult fanfiction once and he freaked on me, saying "RAPE ISN'T ABOUT LOVE...WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?" I couldn't explain it. Quote
Guest MortiferLascivio Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 Yeah, I dunno what it's all about really. I write incest, m/m, and mpreg but I'd never actually WANT to see REAL incest or gay sex or a pregnant man. I write incest but I'm seriously squicked about the idea of, I dunno, having sex with my own brother or whatever. I don't care about people being gay, but I don't want to see REAL men having sex. (I don't want to see ANYONE having sex, actually) For me, I think it's because I can enjoy something that is essentially out of the norm without having to feel bothered or guilty about it. I know what I'm writing/reading is not real so there's no reason to be grossed out or feel guilty. No real people are involved. One of my biggest phobias is seeing people get hurt/killed/raped. So, yeah, I can't watch that stuff REALLY happen but the occasional story/fantasy involving fictional characters isn't so bad. I think that's why, when I'm having a fantasy, I always imagine myself as someone else, a made up character, never my actual self. Quote
Kettle Posted December 29, 2008 Report Posted December 29, 2008 About half of my fanfics are non-consensual (I don't mark them as rape because one party is usually under orders to pleasure the other, rather than there being any violence involved) and the one I'm currently writing is teetering on the edge of full-blown rape. I think it doesn't bother me because the characters involved in the non-con fics are in a very particular environment where no-one looks out for anyone else and their leader is a megalomaniac who forged his army through fear - everyone's half-expecting to be raped and sex is about dominating the other person. But as far as I'm concerned in real life anything "non-consensual" is rape. Quote
draygon_icewing Posted January 7, 2009 Report Posted January 7, 2009 I understand what ya'll are talking about. I have never let my family read what I post. When my mom asked why, I told her that it was because I would probably be committed if some of the less understanding members of my family knew who was writing it. That and my family has experienced the devastation of incest and rape, so I have an aversion to writing the act. That's just me. My kick, being a woman, is the Crime Scene fetish. The first man I ever slept with freaked out when I started my period right in the middle of intercourse, but it felt really, really good for me. So, now I always wonder what it would have been like if he had not pussied out on me and kept going. I broke up with that dick-head by the way since he spent nearly an hour in the shower scrubbing his nether-regions. Quote
Petofsuccubus Posted January 8, 2009 Report Posted January 8, 2009 The 'rape' scenes I enjoy are not really representative of real rape, since mine are more like forced orgasms. The victim character always gets into it, whether they want to or not. Since it's not realistic, it's super hot to me And yeah, underage works for me too, even though I'd never touch a minor. Same thing with tentacles. Let a slimy monster touch me? Oh hell no. See it happen in hentai? Yes please! Quote

Doesn't mean I condone of it or intend to commit it. Just means that as an art form I find it erotically stimulating. Tentacles? totally hot, but face it, there's no species on earth as of now that could qualify for the a tentacle rape super special. These are all inventions of the sordid human mind ( like yours truly) mean for entertainment. Quote
JCullen Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 I think it's a very thin line between finding it hot to read about in something you know is fiction and finding it hot by actually doing it. There is a darker side of human nature that is fun to explore creatively. One of my favorite authors in the world is the late Marqui DeSade. He wrote erotica only pertaining to the dark side of human nature. I don't think it makes you a freak or sick to read that kind of fiction. Quote

But I still primarily focus on making sure that the emotions are there just as strongly as the action. The humiliation, guilt and shame of rape. The older teen rebellion against authority as THEY seek sexual gratification. (I just can't read/write about teens being forced.. Children are off limits... Well, unless they are a certain Transformer/robot 'child'....) Beastiality? Well, just wrote my first scene of it over the weekend. (Well, if you count a popular Transformer feline as a true 'beast')...Though I added a definite twist to it. The cat raped a humanoid... Must admit, I even get hot just thinking about going back and editing it some more..... But as a REAL person in the REAL world? - Hell, my own husband doesn't know about the sick things I read/write... And I'd never even consider trying any of the 'fetish's' that just reading/writing about turn me on.. I might be forced to see a shrink! Maybe that's why I keep most of my writing in the realm of machine interfacing? I want to ensure that it's truely fantasy without a hint of reality! Is it normal for us to get turned on by scenes that we'd never in a million years actually WANT to be involved in? Yep. I've seen studies/surveys where over 90% of women HAVE fantasized about being raped and 60% of men fantisize about the same... Quote
Penumbra Posted April 25, 2009 Report Posted April 25, 2009 Oh, hell (thinks) Things I find arousing when written down but would be slightly "overput" in real life? Get your notebooks. In my career( or whatever you want to call it) I've done commision work featuring extreme voyourism, rape, both of the mind and the regular stuff, as well as starred characters sexually attracted to persons in various states of demise, actual demise, transformationinto mythological animals and mechanical entities. One of my favorites was a couple of cyborgs "having at it" in the middle of a steampunk battlefield, where both male and female were equally skewed that way. Another one that stands out was a bit about drug therepy going horribly wrong and well, that one kind of ends on a gray note. I seem to constantly take bits where sexualized violence rears its head, but I as a personal, is generally considered unusually neutral to both. *shrug* But as long as certain topics are presented in a frank and adult environment where everything has "fiction based spank bait" stamped on it and no ones accusing one another of using Asuka Langly Sorhyu as a symbol for [insert celebrity name]'s rape fantasy it's a legitimate bit of literature. although Pokemon rape fics still make me take an extra step back.
