How often is the "Currently Reading" counter updated?

Not sure if this is the correct place to ask this, but I’m wondering about it.

A story that I have has been saying “Currently Reading 2” for a while. I think probably about a week and a half now.

Maybe people just really love my story but I wonder if this gets updated regularly or if this is just an example of people reading it.

I suppose I’m just curious to know how to read the stats themselves.

The number reflects how many people have added the story to their Currently Reading field. So, unless or until they remove it, their number will remain.

Oh, I didn’t realize that you can add a story like that. I think it’s a new feature after the upgrades? Or do I just not remember it?

It’s been around for a while, but it’s easier now to use it.

Okay then, that’s cool. I thought it was like “You are online” light that you see on some places. I assumed that it was showing who was on the site right now. Good to know.
