Guest twofacetoo Posted June 24, 2019 Report Posted June 24, 2019 Any chance of adding a new subcategory to Books for Authors, like Stephen King, Frank Herbert and William Gibson? The sort of people who would have lots of potential fan-fictions written around their books, but more generally about them than based on specific ones, to save making a lot more pages for the individual books. pittwitch Posted June 25, 2019 Report Posted June 25, 2019 Bronxwench or DemonGoddess would be the stronger authorities on this, but I believe what you are thinking of, fictions about the authors themselves, rather than based in their literary worlds, would fall under the celebrity category, not Books, as they are real people. BronxWench Posted June 25, 2019 Report Posted June 25, 2019 We do have a couple of author categories: Anita Blake, Antonia Forest, Lemony Snicket, and Poppy Z Brite, so there’s clearly precedent. It’s not a bad idea, but I think it would take a bit of work to move the existing stories based on those authors’ works to the new categories. Staff/manpower to do that would be the bigger concern rather than creating the categories. Quote
