Guest ScienceofPorn Posted April 2, 2018 Report Posted April 2, 2018 Hello, I was wondering if there was a category for SCPs? I have a story already written, but I couldn’t find a category for the SCP Foundation, which in itself is a large-scale collaborative writing wiki on anomolous and paranormal people and objects and not a traditional medium like most topics on here. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SCP_Foundation Quote
BronxWench Posted April 2, 2018 Report Posted April 2, 2018 I’m actually unsure of where we would put this. It could be in Games, since there’s a role-playing element, and there’s been a game based on the project. I’m reluctant to slot it into Originals, since some participants use other participants’ work as a jumping off point, or as part of their canon, which puts it back in the realm of fan fiction. Honestly, I’m leaning towards Games. Quote
Guest ScienceofPorn Posted April 3, 2018 Report Posted April 3, 2018 I would agree its difficult to place, I didn’t want to place it in originals with a long-winded explanation of the actual source material much like you said. I’d consider the medium more akin to Books, seeing as how its an amassed collection of logs and short stories, even if it isn’t comprised of a single tangible volume. Something like SCP Wiki– misc, perhaps? The game associated with it, SCP: Containment Breach, only showcases about two dozen of the over 3000 entries on the wiki. You are more familiar with categorizing these things, however, and I would happily accept whatever placement you deem appropriate. Quote
BronxWench Posted April 3, 2018 Report Posted April 3, 2018 The problem is that Wikis aren’t actual books, and they’re not like webcomics, either. But, having said that, Books may be the only logical placement. Our admin will make the ultimate determination, but Books or Games would be my thoughts. Quote
