Sasuke had returned, Naruto wanted nothing to do with him, and Sasuke had gone blind in one eye. Orochimaru had wanted him to bring Naruto with him cause Sasuke had a wolf sealed in him when he was a kid and the wolf was Kyuubi's mate and that was part of the reason it attacked the village (i think). Orichi wanted them to use the energies of the fox and wolf to resurrect someone (I think it was that bone guy) and then he was going to leave sasuke alone. And they get together in the end.
