Guest BlackButtafly14 Posted January 13, 2016 Report Posted January 13, 2016 I know that adult fanfition has just undergone a system upgrade. But the upgrade has not made it easier to navigate through stories on the website. Now with all the chapters on the left side of the screen you have to go all the way back up to the top to pick the next chapter of a story. And since the chapter title is no longer on the top, readers Wil not know what chapter to go to next. It really takes some of the joy out of reading if you have to search for the next chapter. Also, the is no way to leave comments on stories. If there is, it is not easy to find. The new upgrades have put a damper on the website. Quote
BronxWench Posted January 13, 2016 Report Posted January 13, 2016 It's being addressed today. DG and manta were on the job getting the new code written and running to at least let people SEE chapters all day and well into the wee hours of the night. Letting them get some sleep was a bit of a priority, too, since they're not bots. Quote
WillowDarkling Posted January 13, 2016 Report Posted January 13, 2016 And moved this, since it's an Archive issue, not a forum one. Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 13, 2016 Report Posted January 13, 2016 Yesterday, the priority was to get the chapter data to display at all. That's working now. Sure, I understand it's annoying not having "next" and other nav options, but that's something we'll take care of probably tomorrow after our eyeballs get a chance to get rested. Understand that combined, you're looking at over 30 man hours yesterday. Quote
Guest Mira-Claude Posted January 13, 2016 Report Posted January 13, 2016 I hope DG and Manta get some rest and inspiration! I'm already very happy to just be able to read the chapters. Quote
YaoiLemonadeLover Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 The story titles no longer come through to the title html tag. So now browsers only display a generic title for very single story. This definitely broke during the server upgrade, as this worked prior to the upgrade. Quote

Let's not fill the entire forum with the same complaint, shall we? Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 24, 2016 Report Posted January 24, 2016 And once again I'll address this. The goal with the code is to make as much of it execute from one area, as we can. This means we're not running 23 different instances of the same script copied locally to the subdomains to open a story anymore, in different subdomains. We're using ONE script, in ONE subdomain to open stories EVERYWHERE. Quote
