Ghost Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 In my most recent update to my Original story Loealkah I've used a quote from 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' when one character is reading to another. As it's in public domain I've assumed that this should be fine, and that it's a single line, but I did want to ask before I got myself into trouble. It's already updated and in the chapter ( chapter Two ) but if there's issue with it I'll remove it ASAP. Quote
BronxWench Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 It's fine to use the quotation, but we do ask that you include a citation, either as a footnote at the end of the chapter, or if it's feasible, an in-line citation in the body of the story. We have a FAQ with some examples here. Quote

[ I quote from 'A Midsummer's Night's Dream in this Chapter, a book that's in public domain. ] That's my Citation, or should I make it more formal and or move it to the end of the chapter? Quote
BronxWench Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 I'd add "by William Shakespeare" to complete it, but at the beginning is fine. Quote
