It has to do with Ron acquiring an item at the Quidditch World Cup if I'm not mistaken. It's an item that lets him look throw solid objects, and he uses it to spy on Ginny. Ginny finds out and then those two proceed to have sex, but Hermione walks in on them. I could go on, but that's the need to know stuff of the story.
