Either that or I'm so tired I've missed it. Hermione finds out she a descendant of Salazar Slytherin. Apparently Slytherin had two daughters although everyone thought he only had one. Hermione finds hidden journals from the unknown daughter (I have a strong feeling that her name was Celeste?) and it turn out she was descendant from her. The unknown daughter was a spells mistress and a seer and developed a spell that would use a blood connection to 'judge' Voldemort and kill him if he was found lacking . She left Hermione some of her blood so she and Harry could do the spell. Quote
