Its old and hasnt been updated in years but it was long and really well written up to the point she stopped at. It's about a human who ends up on this alien planet where the species is a large and cat like. He ends up being the mate (?) of the runt of the (royal?) family. The human is a liguist on his planet and slowly starts to learn this one too. There is a weird dog creature that the human becomes attached to but the cat-species is terrified of because they're so violent. When the human gets kidnapped at one point, he breaks free into the jungle and holes up with these dog creatures while his mate searches for him. There's something in him and his mate that forces them to mate frequently or else they die so when they're finally reunited, they mate just in time. I could tell you a lot more if need be I just can't remember the name or author. I think the title started with an L??? Please help! This is killing me!
