Also, I thought sure he was going to kiss Mrs. Karlow in front of Jessica. I'm depressed. So the reason Amanda is miserable is that Helena is with someone else. Jack is right when he said that she will fall for the first guy (or girl) who shows her any interest. It sounds implausible, but I'm wondering if it might turn out to be Joe after all. Given Tara's track record with guys, do you think Arthur sounds a little too good to be true? He comes across as the perfect boyfriend-- a suave, witty Tom Cruise look-alike. I think Tara is in for a fall. And it looks like Jack will have to settle for internet porn and maybe some mutual-masturbation sessions with Kayla until his birthday. Quite the opposit! The mood of the chapter was much lighter, it was a quick read, leaving you wanting more! That's what every author should aim for. Then I was thinking that we're waiting to find out what's up Amanda's butt, then I thought "Phrasing!" but then I realized in six weeks time she will be 18, and even though only a rising junior in high school, she will be legal fair game for any adult man out there (except for teachers). Jashley13 Posted July 7, 2016 Report Share Posted July 7, 2016 Hey everyone! So there's not gonna be much of a Reality Check this time around. The only bit of real life in the chapter was that my close friend who ran for Council President during my Junior year also lost, but that's about it. Everything else is set-up for the upcoming saga. However, there is a bit of business I need to lay out right now, just so it doesn't come as a shock down the line. Two months from today, I will be joining the Armed Forces. It's something I've kind of always known I would end up doing (my entire family has been military) and...well, it's finally my time. I've gotten all the paperwork signed, gotten my assignment, and got my ship date to boot camp. I'm basically just waiting now. So what does this mean for the story? Nothing. I mean, there's going to be a two-month break between chapters while I'm at boot camp (no access to technology, of course), but as soon as I'm in tech school, I will have my computer back and I will be typing up a storm. This story will continue, come Hell or high water. I've invested over 50 chapters into this story and I have well more than 50 more already in my head. Nothing is going to stop this story, short of my...well, let's not get morbid. Just wanted to give you all a heads-up. I will be giving a message when I am actually leaving, of course, but this way it won't come as quite as much of a shock. At this point, Amanda believes Alan has "upgraded to the next model"-to paraphrase-with Kelly, and considering how Alan has been treating Amanda like a nuisance, I don't give it much time before the twins end up fighting again, with Amanda even going so far as to revoke the deal they made at the end of their "talk" in the Twins saga, cause, after all, why would she want to be a rebound girl for someone who has gone so far as to sexile her so he can have sex with <i> his </i> girlfriend. Amanda's depressed. She notices Alan looking over every time he kisses Kelly, and she thinks it's to gloat and torment her. It's more likely he's guilty and looking to see if she's OK with it. What branch? IIRC did you say your dad was a submariner? Before my knee and flat feet and ringing ears disqualified me, I was hoping to get into Army Intelligence. Then after the ASVAB my best match was for Field Artillery. With Intel I was hoping to be an analyst (and later applied with the CIA) but afterwards discover the Intel guys were likely to be crawling undercover behind enemy lines.
