What I remember is that Kagome shared dreams with Sesshoumaru before she fell into the past. They were each others best friend and I think they trained together. She gave him a bracelet in one of their dreams than changed it to a ring after he gave her a ring crafted from one of his fangs. Rings because they won't interfere when fighting.
