Per the rules for this forum I am stating I would rather not have feedback and please respect this by not giving any.

I wrote my first story for a long time today, not a long one. A little over 1000 words maybe. I guess that makes it a ficlet rather than a story. Anyhow, it really sucked. It sucked so appallingly that I couldn't quite believe how bad I've gotten at writing. I was never one of the literary greats. Cheap, low-brow porn and cheesy jokes was all I ever managed. But I felt I had a good degree of talent anyhow, and I read some of the old stuff now and some of it is okay.

BUT THIS FUCKING SUCKED. It really just... goddamn awful. I won't go into any details about it since, quality being what it is, I wouldn't post it on adult-fanfiction.org anyhow. The dialogue - the brief lines - were so choppy, it was like I was twelve and first starting. The description was... I can't describe how bad it was.

Thing is, as I say, I thought for a while I could make a bit of money writing, just beer money - a few extra quid a month selling cheap porn to the re-sellers of cheap porn. But with my writing ability being so shite I gotta face up that it is never gonna happen. Totally deluding myself, and it sucks to realise it.

What you should do is wait it out until you don't feel so awful about it and go back and do editing. Heavy editing, if need be in some areas. It might even take a few edits over top each other.

The key thing a lot of people misunderstand or forget is that raw writing is always that. Raw. My biggest peeve with a lot of fanfiction and original fiction is that people just submit their raw writing and move on. You're supposed to edit it, it even says in the submission guidelines that works submitted should be editted and not raw.

Anyways, don't get down about it. Revise it as much as you need to
