Guest orleans Posted December 1, 2007 Report Share Posted December 1, 2007 After last year's almost-chaos I decided to start preparing the gifts for my family and friends earlier this year. I'm not going out shopping on December 24th again- it's like committing suicide *lol* These are some of my ideas for this year: For my father I have prepared a small box filled with sand. I put some gold and silver nuggets, some coins and other small treasures I know he likes to collect inside and add a small riddle screen to the whole thing. My mother loves plants and always has cold feet I bought her striped socks (red and white) and put some seeds for a flower into them. But she will also get a new book. For my sister I have bought a ticket for the Bon Jovi Open Air next year. That should be enough For my friends I still have to decide what to give them.... but I'm very optimistic that I will find something nice. Some of my online friends will receive a fanfiction with a pairing they like. I have already started writing those stories.... And you? Any ideas yet?? No, my idea is to go to wal mart, big lots, or some other retail store and buy some things. Like shampoo, conditioner, ect ect. Find a small basket, or large, depending on your wanting. For smaller baskets the travel sized shampoo's work wonders. Just make a bath basket for the females. You can also add Bubblebath and sponges,poofs, or whatever they like. Truthfully it is a lot more cheaper to do it this way then to spend all that money on the premade ones and these will come from the heart and your knowledge that you made it will make the gift even that much more special. OMG My sister does that shit to me! I asked her what she wanted this year and all I got as a response was: You know what I like! I looked at her and said um no I don't that's why I frickin asked!!!!! Then she said not to worry her husband has it taken care of. I rolled my eyes and said I was going home. LOL, that how it is talking Christmas with her. I do the same kind of things (as opposed to just store bought/commercialism gifts). For some people I give homemade coupons for: a 30 massage (from me) or a their favorite home cooked meal, or a dinner out or a whatever really appeals to THEM. For some of my friends I have written stories (short 1-10 chapter stories) if they like my work. I have one friend who is as big a Soprano nut as me, (she likes different characters than I do though) so I wrote her a story with her fav characters in it. For another author friend he had a specific 'kink-fetish' he wanted me to write for him, so I did. The dogs get special goodies, and friends that HAVE pets (cats or dogs) I will usually send coupons or samples for good holistic-healthy food for them.
