Multi-chaptered stories posted individually

I run across this often: authors post one chapter of a story, then when they go to post another chapter, they post it as a new story.

Is there a way to merge these into one story when we find them? Would it help the archive space to do so?

Here's one example:

I haven't read them, but just from reading the author's summary, they're really just a continuation of each other (and based on the fact that they were all published on the same day on the site).

And if this isn't the correct forum for this, I apologize; I truly didn't know where to put my query. I'm not sure if it takes less space to have mutliple chapters as opposed to multiple stories, but it's a thought.

Good question; I have no idea. I think that one would need to contact the author and inform him that it would be getting more hits (not to mention be less confusing) if he puts Worse and Terrible in with Bad. There are times, however, where I've seen where it makes sense to separate -- Macx Larabee ( http://books.adult-fanfiction.org/authors.php?no=15467 ) would be a good example of this, but other times, wow, I agree, it does get annoying.

One of us (staff) should email him. From what I can tell, this user has been here for a long, long time. Used to be, to add a new chapter, you posted a story. Hasn't been that way for years, but there you are.

Just as with anything else, considering my oh so lengthy and ever growing to do list, I'll get to the merge when I get to it. No promises on completion time.
