i find it very annoying when an author doesn't include all the story codes for their fic. not only will it turn certain readers away for not being warned, but some readers won't look at the fic at all because they weren't told what was in it.
Personally i don't think there are enough story codes here on AFF, they've covered a lot of things, but are still lacking. In a recent fic i used AP (Age Progression) which is a code AFF doesn't have and i had to explain myself what it mean't. I don't mind really, but a lack of codes may limit my fics. does anyone know who to get in touch with the moderators so i can sugest new codes?
Ap= Age Progression
AR= Age Regression
GTS= Giant/Giantess
Shrink= Shrinking
Thse are just four i can think of off the top of my head. I know they have an Other- any warning not covered on the lists. But that could be so many things and really doesn't tell whats going on with the fic.
Can anyone think of anymore not covered by the AFF story codes?

When i first started writing fics i was crap. certainly crap compared to the kind of writing i can do now. It was only through AFF, through the reviews and feedback i recieved that i was able to see the faults and develop them. it allowed me to develop my writing style that i am comfortable with. All of this has spilled overinto my more serious writings and now i am writing a novel that i am fianlly confident has the potential to get published. Before i was only hopeful that my work would see the bookshelves, but now with my eveolved and practised skills i finally am confident in my work.
If it wasn't because of the reviews made by my peers and critics my skills wouldn't be half as good as they are today. it is because of writing fanfiction that i have now gained the ability to write true fiction.
Through the things i have read i have learned that there are no real taboo's or limits. only our minds limit us. only the power of our own imaginations hold us back.

I have never had a problem with the colour of someones skin. but i've met people who have played the race card and shoved their ethnicity in my face. they make it a problem, not just for me but for everyone. They're always saying how whenever they go anywhere people treet them like crap. To that i have to ask, how do you treet them? if you treat people like shit from the second you meet how do you expect them to react? sometimes a few manners is all thats needed.
it's not only whiute people who can be racist.

i myself personally prefer subtitiles. I like to hear the authentic Japanese language and actors, it really gives some flesh to the movie in my opinion. gives that hint of the rich culture to the movie that just can't seem to be tranferred over with translations.
Watch anything by Hayayo Miyazaki in both the english and Japanese soundtracks and you might see what i mean.
