  1. Ookay, so I'll be surprised if this topic gets any hits with a title and subtitle like that, but I'll give it a try. In case you've actually clicked on this topic, however, I guess I should tell you what the whole deal is: I Have: Started to write a story about a woman in the Warhammer 40.000 setting. I Need: Someone to bounce ideas off of, someone to critique my writing style (and make the story flow better) and... (since this is AFF) give some ideas for how to add in some less-than-chaste elements into the story without going straight from chaste to horrifying-non-euclidian-fetishes The Idea: If you're interested in reading the story (and possibly being a beta), I'll be happy to e-mail you a copy of the story I've got thus far for you to read. If at that point you feel up for evaluating whether it was excellent/good/okay/bad/terrible and giving constructive criticism on the story, I'd be much obliged. Of course, should you get any ideas like: "Uh, uh! X should totally happen, so that Y could do Z!" that'd just be fantastic. It may or may not happen, but either way, it's always nice to get some ideas apart from those one gets from the teeny, tiny voices in ones head Notes and Warnings: I'm a non-native speaker of English and therefore my English is quite atypical to read. Also, due to cultural differences, it is possible that events occuring in the story might offend (the again, this is AFF...). Hope to hear from you. Ta!
  2. Hello! I've gotten into the Warhammer 40k universe very recently and decided that I'd try my hand at it from another direction. Namely, writing. Title: Flight of the Aquila Author: Harboe Plotline: The Ordos Hereticus have come upon a threat to the Imperium and an Inquisitor and his close companions have to unravel a web of deceit to get to the bottom of the problem. Summary to date: Currently characters are being introduced with their various habits and views upon life being expanded upon. Pairings: None (to date, anyway) Spoilers: None Feedback: Greatly desired. URL: http://games.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600083552 Even if you don't know the 40k setting (it's well worth getting to know, I promise!) I would love if you'd bother giving it a read, as I am actually writing this (as a 40k-rookie myself) to introduce someone else to the workings of 40k and I'd love to know if it's decipherable by other people than myself.
  3. Only read a few chapters thus far, but it seems fun ^^ As in... sadistically fun.
  4. I am a few chapters into a story called No Rest for the Wicked [http://tv.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600093914] and I have a basic plot outlined for now (won't go too much into detail to avoid spoiling the story). Anyway, there's this killer on the loose and Dexter has to uncover the killers identity. To make it more realistic I am back-tracking a lot of things, doing literally hours of research for minor details to be as realistic as possible (I am even in contact with a forensic technician here in Denmark to help on that side of things). All this is fine and I have the beginning and the end planned. What I need is something to fill the gap. Yes, I am basically looking for 'filler' material, though it shouldn't immediately be apparent what is purely filler and what is foreshadowing for the series just like If you're interested, please mail me an idea or two for the things your favourite vigilante could do. No major overarching plot needed, just a crimescene or two, perhaps some domestic trouble and stuff like that. For now, anyway, I'm experiencing writer's block, not knowing what to write to make a gradual transition to the climax of the story.
  5. Excellent guide, informative and at the same time humerous enough that you want to keep reading. I wonder, do you have any other guides in this style? Or have any guides of your own that you recommend?

    Story Codes

Well, since I only have one story thus far and it's meant to be an interlude between Season 2 and 3 of the Dexter television series, I find it unnecessary to specify the couples involved (as the reader will have likely already seen the series) and I am half-tempted to remove the warnings of violence and abuse (as they have thus far been extremely innocent compared to the tv-series), but I am keeping them in just in case. However, as I add more chapters I look through the various tags and add whichever I find that I've introduced in a chapter. As it moves on more and more of the summary will become tags... I'm staying the **** away from MPreg, though. Not because I have anything against it, but because it'd require me to suspend too much of my disbelief.
  7. Chapter 6 is up and I'm still really looking for feedback, ideas or suggestions on how to improve my style of writing (and the story itself, for that matter)!
  8. Hi, I've just gotten started on a Dexter Fanfiction and I'm looking for some feedback so if you've got the time to spare, then please take a little while to read the few chapters I have thus far and e-mail me a review. Title: No Rest for the Wicked Author: Philip Harboe Summary: Set immediately after Season 2, Dexter returns to Miami and tries to return to his "normal" life. Unfortunately, things are starting to happen. Rating: Adult. Pairings: None, thus far. Spoilers: Season 1, Season 2, Darkly Dreaming Dexter (book), Dearly Devoted Dexter (book). Feedback: Desired greatly. URL: http://tv.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no...4&chapter=1 Looking forward to your ideas!
