    Please Help

I totally read this one! Grr...wish I could remember the title.
  2. Going to dust off my first anime crush on this one, but Lotor from Voltron. There was just something about his yellow eyes, blue skin and white hair that made my adolescent heart all aflutter. That and his unhealthy obsession with a certain blonde princess.
  3. Rebel Yell - Billy Idol (one of the few men who makes bleached blonde look good)

    Cheating

I just can't wrap my mind around cheating. I don't understand the motivations. If you want multiple partners, then state that when you first start dating someone. Why be greedy and play the part of an exclusive boyfriend or girlfriend when there are plenty of people out there who have no problem being non-exclusive? Or, just break up with the person. Sure a relationship gets comfortable and becomes difficult to break off, but I'd have a hell of a lot more respect for someone who said to me, "I don't love you anymore and I want to see other people," instead of someone who cheated on me. It'd hurt at the time, but in the long run, I'd be much happier. And no matter what anyone says, someone who cheats on you does not love you.

  8. Okay, crack pairings can be loads of fun. It's total fan satisfaction. The thing is, most writers morph the characters into something the original creator didn't intend them to be. It's very hard to stay true to the spirit of most characters while pairing them with a character they may very well hate. This results in many OOC fics. For example, one of my favorite crack pairings is Sess and Kagome. Lots of writers really drop the ball when they do Sess/Kag stories. They'll make Kags a total badass and Sess a man-whore. Or Kags is an ugly, shy girl who turns into a total babe later and Sess is the charismatic rock star who notices her. While these stories may be well-written and fun to read, they are not true to the personalities of the characters. A character is not a character merely because a writier says that they are, they need to give the character the personality their original creator gave them. That's the challenge of being a fan fic writer, keeping true to the creator's original vision while bending the characters to your own will. That's why I stick to writing original fics, I'm just not good enough to tackle a fan fic!

    Inspiration

MaryJanice Davidson, Madelyn Alt, Janet Evanovich, Stephanie James and Lori Handeland inspire me...just to name a few. It's not that I emulate their writing styles (or if I do I don't see it), it's more that I'm inspired by their spirit of fun in their writing. You can truly tell they enjoy what they write. They're not looking to write the Great American Novel, they're just looking to have a good time with their characters.

    I Am...

I am high on Tylenol PM...or nursing a cold.
  12. The sad thing about Catholicism is that they see a priest or nun having consenting sex with another adult as a greater sin than them having sex with or molesting a child.
  13. I'm fond of Gaara/Hinata fics...Hinata really does come into her own later on and would be the perfect foil to Gaara. There was also a really good Orochimaru/Sakura fic I read and for the life of me I can't remember the name of it, but it made me a grudging fan of that pairing.
  14. I do 3rd person mostly...I find that 1st person can be rather limited at times, so I rarely use it, unless it suits my plot to have one POV. It is possible to do 1st person and have multiple POVs, but for me, that tends to make a story seem scattered, like the author didn't know which character's eyes they wanted the story through. And if thta is the case, why not use 3rd anyway?
  15. I'm a fan of Kagome/Sess and on occasion, Kagome/Naraku...but these have to be extremely well done (relationship development, people!). None of this, Sess or Naraku saw Kagome in the hot springs and was like, "Oh! Hey, there's my mate. Time to shag!" which seems to be par for the course. Sess will always be an icicle and Naraku will always be evil...but Kagome is a pretty accepting girl, so if an author can make it work...
  16. Not true for me. I have never lied to an SO about being pissed off at them.

    Anita Blake

Yeah...I'm pretty much over LKH. Her novels are just cheap porn. I like smut as much as the next girl, but there is no quality in her work anymore. It makes me sad because her fist book (Nightseer) was wonderful and there wasn't any sex in it at all...though I wouldn't have minded if it did! It's sad, now I won't ever pick up another one of her books again. I still read a few books (even after the point where I got disgusted) in hopes that things would pick back up. I don't think I'll ever waste my cash like that again! A friend told me her books became all sex because she was upset about gettting a divorce (don't know how true that one is).
  19. Italics are always good to use for flashbacks or dreams...basically anything that isn't in the "here and now." Flashbacks can be great devices if used properly. Setting the scene is key. If something jolts a person's memory, you can be fast and clipped. If it is a fond memory, a leisurely pace is best. Or if it is a not so fond memory (and you're feeling ambitious), you can even interject how the flashback is affecting the character in the present. Flashbacks are a great way to give some background info but remember, over use will just bog your story down. There are other ways to clue the reader in without using flashbacks. Hope that helps!
