Thanks for the kind words and eloquent feedback. I could say a lot to respond and explain where my head is currently at but I think it would take too much time. I guess my main points are that, as I mentioned previously, diverging paths would take a lot more time to write. Maybe I should take your comment about taking my time to heart though - attempting to placate people on a timely basis so far hasn't done me any favours, it seems. @pairofdimes Thanks for taking the time to review. As always, I'm taking everything into consideration.

I can take criticism but I can't stand thoughtless and needlessly abrasive arse holes. Read back in this thread and the reviews and you'll see people who were strongly in favour of a preg or non-preg direction. I'm catering to both. If you don't like that or anything else about the story that's your prerogative. There's absolutely no need to be an abusive dick to me. You must have something better to do with your time.

As I've mentioned before, I've had so much positive and respectful responses to The Wolf's Snare, but some negative comments have built up over time. I'd like to quickly address those now: A) Stop being 'lazy' and asking us for suggestions on the plot - in response to a long, ungrateful and faintly abrasive review by user Serperior_Queen: I'm not asking for people to come up with the entire plot for me. The decision to ask for feedback on the story direction was just to get an idea of what people wanted to see - I only continued beyond the first couple of chapters as a thank you to all the readers out there, and the feedback was an extension of that thanks. To call me 'lazy' is ignorant and disrespectful, particularly since I do this in my own free time for no pay for your entertainment. It's not easy. B) GAWD! I hate X, Y or Z!! - that's your prerogative, as is your right to post your opinion. Just don't respond like some petulant kid that can't get his/her way. You can't have everything and life isn't perfect. Relating back to my last comment; remember you're talking to a human being - not just a name and avatar image - treat me as such. C) The A/B versions are too similar - The dual stories are meant to account for the two groups of fans who wanted either a preg or non-preg story. I never promised diverging elements beyond that (though I would've liked to have attempted that had I the spare time). Just think of it like a kink tick-box - click A for no preg, B for preg. And don't complain about 're-used' content or that I'm wasting my time doing both - they aren't both meant for you. D) Get back to the wolves! - don't worry, I will. I'm mixing it up a bit with some Lara/Jennifer action at the moment to add some variety and provide what a number of fans requested. Remember, absence makes the heart grow fonder and the same thing over and over again gets boring. Apologies if some of that came off sounding abrasive. Again, most of your comments have been positive or at least phrased in a respectful and constructive manner but one or two people just needed a response/explanation.

Chapter 8A and 8B are now up. As you can tell from their titles, this part has been split up across multiple chapters as it was getting exceedingly long. Though this means you'll be getting a shorter update on this occasion, the trade off is that I have a lot of content almost ready to go for future chapters. As a result, they'll be less of a wait for the next update. Please enjoy and let me know what you think as always. This is why I hate predicting release dates X( I was waylaid a little by sinus problems and a concert. However, I have been soldiering through just for you guys. I have a day off of work today so I'm really pushing to get both A and B chapters done by bed time. Stay tuned!

That would make for some interesting moments but its perhaps a bit too complex at this stage in the story. Still, I will keep the idea in mind. Keep the bandit feedback coming though, everyone. I'm thinking I want to follow up on them, to clear them out of the island, but not spend too long on it. Anyway, just thought I'd update you guys. I'm about 90% done on the next chapter, which is looking like it'll end up fairly long at over 10 pages (in terms of my word processor, that is). What I've got so far needs a lot of polish and of course I have to tweak it for the A and B versions. Hopefully, all being well, I can get both finished at the weekend.

Man, you guys are really good at predicting ideas I've considered! I had something pretty similar in mind, albeit more expanded with a conspicuous arc. At some point though I thought it might clog up the story too much, and with people hammering me with demands for more smut scenarios I decided to not follow up on the mention of the bandits. However, a little bit of drama might spice things up again. So I ask the question to you all - Would you like a little bit of plot, to maybe follow up on the bandit situation, or you just happy with just smut until the end?

I prefer not to give time estimates in case I can't keep them. This fic in particular has seen a lot of content being moved around so even my own internal estimates aren't usually correct. I would very much like to get it done faster but I'm usually too tired outside of the weekend. My current job requires an early start and early bedtimes. For most people that would be fine but I can rarely drift off in good time to get a full night's sleep so I'm always too fatigued to sit down and write on week nights. Sorry 'bout that. Thanks for your interest and keep checking back every now and again. What I will say is that - as I've alluded to before - there will be more Lara/Jennifer action. Most of what I wrote at the weekend focuses on that and I think it's coming together fairly well - I've only done one proper girl on girl fic before so it's not so straightforward for me to write. I saw your comment as honest but respectful and I simply responded in kind. I know not everything I do can be to everyone's liking and everyone's got a right to their own opinion so yeah, I'm not holding anything against you. I've got to say, it's been great to see that the majority of people responding and reviewing are being frank, polite and constructive. Some suggestions are a little beyond the scope of the story, but generally it's been thoughtful and positive.

Attempting to make someone feel stupid whilst raving about something completely unrelated to the topic in broken English - you're either an ironic genius or simply an idiotic troll. Did you even read the story? @pervert, Keewee and everyone else Seems like every time I check back here I have to write a small essay in response to all the feedback! Perv, I respect your stance and I too have witnessed many a fic or a hentai go on the slide after a really great first few sex scenes. Hopefully I can do something to improve your response to upcoming chapters but you make the great point that you've still got your favourite chapters you can always return to not matter where the story goes. I do prefer short one-shots with a little bit of context - quicker to plan, write and read with less danger of getting bored. I do wish I'd kept this one more simple but hey, if the ideas, hits and positive reviews continue I'm going to keep it going until I get my really great ideas on the page. Again, thanks to the majority of folks for their thoughtful, well-written feedback. My plan is to get the next chapter finished by the end of this weekend.

...I hope you're making a joke off the back of my joke. Also, I'm not from Texas or the US for that matter so that reference means nothing to me. @constructive and others I know a lot of these criticisms come from a good place but you guys don't need to fret so much. It can't be full-on action the whole way through otherwise there would be no suspense and everything would become mundane. Also, things must be truncated from time to time to prevent extreme repetition - that's just the nature of keeping a good pace and not boring both myself and the reader. We're still roughly at the midpoint (yeah, I said there's one more chapter but things change) so you've got to expect a lull here before the build up to the big finish. In short, I can see where your concerns are coming from but have a little faith in me. This ain't my first rodeo when it comes to erotic fics (check out my raft of other stories if you're after some other quality material) and I intend to take the story out with a bang - no pun intended.

Internet entitlement at it's finest, folks. @sailornemesis Good points as always, man. It has gotten decidedly less 'dommy', something I was thinking about the other day. I want to conjure up a way that I can make at least one dom-heavy scene before the end. @Kee_Wee Thanks for the feedback, I'm taking everything into account so it means a lot. @DG I was hoping to make more progress on this today but my sinuses have flared up something rotten so I'm probably not up to it. You might be concerned that since 7B ended up being a fairly straightforward tweak on 7A that I'm making very little progress at a snail's pace. Don't fret though, it's not all that bad - I've actually got a huge chunk of the chapter 8 written that was originally a part of 7 until the last minute. So, in a nutshell: chapter 8 is roughly 50% complete so don't get too upset with 7B. As always, thanks for reading. Looks like I'm nearing the 30,000 hits barrier!

Just to update you patient people, I'm about two thirds done of the current chapter (path B). It's slow going because of my job but it's definitely still going.

I may have already foreshadowed that in the B plot... stay tuned... I got a new job a week and a half ago and I've been too tired to do any Wolf's Snare work. I'm aiming to dedicate a chunk of time to it this Sunday though. Apologies to all.

Thanks everyone who went out of their way to give feedback and rate. The story has over 25000 hits now which is awesome. Two things I want to say: a) My work on this is likely to slow down now as it looks like I'll be back in work soon. However, most of the complicated plot-based stuff is out of the way so it'll be easier to get things done (in theory). Maybe that will balance things out. Maybe. b) Getting a variety of requests at this point - I don't want to shut any ideas down as I don't want to disappoint anyone but this story has always been a fic about Lara discovering and enjoying this hedonistic, beast-heavy island lifestyle. Also, call this misguided if you want, but I went to great pains to try to create a realistic and sensical set up to the story so there's only certain things that can happen without ruining that. Question: Is there a lack of good Lara/Sam fics out there? It sounds like a lot of the recent comments are seeking that coupling and scenario that rather than the story on offer here.

Since only one person brought it up, I suspect most readers probably won't even think about it. If I can't think of a good place to drop in an explanation I might leave it ambiguous. @Jaydee's review Thanks for taking the time to read! In regards to chapter 1, it was meant to be both a simple one-shot at first but at the same time I didn't want to exhaust the concept immediately. Maybe that explains your observations of it. Maybe I'll go back over and refine it at some point. If you're implying what I think you're implying... Though you know I've read and enjoyed your stuff in the past, I honestly didn't have any fics in mind when writing or even planning Wolf's Snare. In the past I've used other fics as pointers and to get a sense of what has already been written, but not at all in this case as I was pretty sure of what I wanted to do and how to do it. It's good to know that people are enjoying the details and not simply fast forwarding to the smut In my opinion, erotica is always elevated by context - if there are interesting elements at play as well as logical sense it becomes much more enjoyable, at least for me. Destroyahirismix666 brought up a good point - why are there no female wolves? This was planned to sort of be addressed at one point. Guess I could drop in a line somewhere that explains or posits a theory about it. Hopefully people don't consider this a major flaw though.

@sailornemesis Don't worry man, the bandits won't be taking part in any of the smutty goodness.
