  1. I was actually underage when I first started writing (long before I discovered AFF, mind you,) so underage stuff (to a limited extent,) doesn't really bother me as much as it appears to bother others (I'm not advocating; it sickens me when it goes on in real life, verse fiction, which ISN'T real.) I find my limitations are based how I'm feeling while I write. So far I haven't had any interest in certain themes (watersports or scat, for example,) but perhaps sometime down the road I will.
  2. I'm sort of on the same boat. My sin is gluttony, and calling something after food tends to squick me. The only exception is when it's being used in an instructive manner (for example, "Lick it like a popsicle.") I don't mind if a person's trying to describe an action, but to actually call a body part after food is just weird and pretty well makes me avoid that food for a week or two. Outside of that, I find my preference of vocabulary depends on the theme of the fic. I like the use of technical names (vagina, penis, nipples, etc.) when a scene that's designed for purposes other than stimulation. For softer-themed stories, I prefer words like member, shaft and breast. When it's meant to be raw or violent I find I prefer boobs, cock, pussy. For playful scenes I like woody, pillows (or mommy-pillows for really silly moments,) About the only words I don't like for physical description are dick and cunt. Other than that, my preference depends greatly on the theme of the scene or story.
  3. I'll be darned if I can find it, but my first introduction to slash was when I stumbled across a Final Fantasy VII fic website (CidVin) It was the first time I actually began to register sex and crap. It was pretty good, but at the time there was some trouble at home, so the dark aspect of the fic was interesting to me (kind of theraputic, as I usually didn't feel so crappy after reading it.) After that, though, I started reading other stories by the author and just found I enjoyed slash. Not really sure why, as unless it's my boyfriend I can't stand the sight of naked men or the sight/sound of a man having sex. :S Later on my interested faded from the slash aspect to the relationship aspect. Hell, I even tried writing a couple of gender benders just because I really thought certain characters were good for each other.
  4. You know, I think I may have seen that Yahoo Question post. :S Anyway, speaking as a girl, a lot of girls don't make sense. Especially the skinny ones. I'm clinically overweight, and I look in the mirror and think "Yeah, I'm heavy. But damn I look good in my black dress." My best friend is underweight and pregnant, and she say "I'm fat! It looks terrible!" even though everybody has told her she looks better now that she's gained weight. Unfortunately, if a girl is set on something, she won't admit defeat. Personally it bugs me when my boyfriend tells me I'm beautiful, simply because I'm happy thinking of myself as average. At average, there's no getting hurt when somebody calls you ugly, and there's no getting stupid when you get compliments. At the same time, though, I can't help but blush and want to smother my boyfriend with affection when he compliments. Quite simply I think it's stubborness. Try directing her attention to a a real flaw. If she's focussing on fixing something that needs improvment, she won't have time for ridiculous weight thoughts.
  5. Dang that's a lot to proccess so early in the morning. XD All joking aside, though, I'd like to point out that it isn't always Yaoi that brings such conditions about. What you have described about Yaoi has happened many times in other fandoms using hetero pairings. While the stories here are limited, Shaman King often suffers many of the symptoms mentioned in the original post. The main canon pairing (YohxAnna) tends to have a lot of sucky stories simply because the personalities (primarily Anna's) are totally twisted into something that isn't even a fragment of her. And then there's the infamous HoroxTamao and RenxPirika. The best excuse I've seen for the existance of the first pair is the fact that Horo likes food and Tamao's a good cook. As for the latter, I have yet to figure out how it even came into existance, other than "it looks good". And how about all this incest that's been hanging around? Sure, the thought is nasty, but there are a couple of pairings, whether it is GLBT or Q, that can be accomplished with good reasoning. Let us not forget about cross species. Pokemon, Digimon, and all that jazz brings about relations between two different species. There are a lot of squick-worthy fics out there of this particular theme, but there are also a couple of really beautiful ones. Now I'll admit that a couple of my favourite pairings are m/m, but that doesn't mean my interest is exclusive *shivers at the thought of SpikexXander*. And I'm sure that most mature authors are the same way. So what am I trying to say through all of this? It's easy to point fingers at Yaoi if you don't care for it. But there are other places where there's an abundance of other types of fanfiction that people are probably complaining about including crossbreeding, incest, pedo, yuri, and hetero. With that said, I'm sure many people sympathize with what you are saying, if only in an indirect way. I definitely understand your feelings on the issue, but it is something we all have to live with in such a free setting.
  6. Damn. :S I'm surprised you didn't tell her to find somebody else to babysit. :S I can understand the video games and swearing stuff, but come on. You have every right to talk to your girlfriend, and the kids are too young to understand religious debates (especially if you're having them vai text, rather than vocal communication.) Lay down your won rules, but compromise on sensible things. If she keeps up, tell her to back off or get somebody else.

    Audio Porn

    What I wouldn't do for some pornish talk from my boyfriend. He's done like two graphic sentences since we've been going out and that's it! Normally I'm not a very good auditory learner/audience/etcetara, but sexy talk is the exception to that rule. I'm with DarkInuLord, except have both men and women do readings.
  8. Subbed by a long shot. FMA and Digimon Zero-Two are the only ones I can put up with in English.
  9. I'm not sure if this will be any use to you, but I thought I would put my own two cents in for anybody else who might be wondering. First time was a mix of positions starting with me on top, then on our sides, my back to his stomach, and then traditional position. It was fairly uncomfortable, so I don't know if I actually reached orgasm. The two big pains would be: a) Friction from the back-and-forth, being thrust into too deep and/or too long. A small note, too, if the guy isn't paying attention and presses his you know what against the girl in a non penetrable area, such as against the vulva, it can be painful.
  10. Well, I know I'm not a guy, but I've had a couple of nights where my BF woke me up 5 or 6 times, and we had a morning when he only needed a fifteen minute break between two goes. I've also noticed that the nights he's had a shot of alcohol with his dinner he hasn't been as active, while other times when he's been laughin g he ccan go a lot longer during activities.
  11. Let's start with this: In an old RP my sis and I had going, the devil was dating a bad-ass nature goddess, the Grim Reaper had multiple personalities, the demon bar was run by a redneck dude named Balzak, there was a mean little fate imp named Tak, who in his previous life was a good person, turned into a obsessive, possessive freak of nature bent on claiming a little person as his man-bride and destroying the kid's best friend. Tak's mentor, Jojo, wasn't quite as insane as Tak (he never tried causing apocalypses) but he liked to egg Tak on, and we never really determined his sexuality. That would be what I consider the "WTF" stuff. I have no idea where it all came from, but these guys caused a lot of insanity. My fave would be Tak and his obsession. That made for great angst when Tak and the friend weren't going after each other with spells and sharp objects. I guess this comes out of the most simple, childish corners of my mind. Then there's the stuff that'll get me crucified; the stuff that comes out of dark corners of my brain that I sometimes forget I have. o_O; In the project that I'm working on, most of Heaven is corrupt, Hell is trying to get the mortal realm balanced out, and the mortals involved all have different issues (ex-druggy gone obsessively-protective-father over a mute boy; tough soldier discharged for liking explossions just a little too much; overly happy african/japanese mechanic living with a psychotically prejuidce half-brother; the list goes on.) It doesn't seem like much from just a brief description, but each character is, well, screwed up, as all are who get caught in the town. Again, obsession is a major point of focus in the project, among other dark themes. I got thinking about it a couple of weeks ago, and it kind of creeps me out, some of the stuff that has come out of the dark little corners of my mind; I'm glad few people I know personally are aware of what goes on in my head now and then. I think perhaps maybe my brain is programmed to magnify my beliefs to scary levels. On the other hand, inspiration for me comes from different things. My my most recent fanfiction is based off a line that popped into my head after seeing a fanart: "When morning comes, you will be glad to be mine." Music and scenes from anime or things sometimes also inspire stuff; The song "Over and Over" inspired a scene between one of the project characters and his chaotic form which I'm looking forward to writing. Anyway, enough babbling. Lotsa things inspire me, while other things simply come to mind. ^^;
  12. Agreed, erotica conveys feelings of sexual desire, however that doesn't necessarily mean that sex has to be in it. That's why I also added "There should be minimal graphic sex" to the comment. The poll's options limit erotica to pornographic nature, though.
  13. Naruto SasuSaku - He's too much of a jerk and doesn't care for her as much as Naruto and Lee do. Shaman King MarcoLyserg - For starters, Marco looks like his dad. Second, it totally goes against Marco's fatherly affection for Jeanne. YohAnna - Sick and wrong on so many levels. First of all, Anna was Yoh & Hao's mother in a past life.[spoiler warning. Highlight the white text to view.] Second of all, nobody could put up with Anna's crap in real life. It's just unreasonable. Finally, there is more true affection between Yoh & Ryu than there is between Yoh and Anna. They're simply uncompatible. Sailor Moon MamoruUsagi - Mamoru can do much better than Usagi. I like Chibiusa and all, but I really think Mamoru would be better off with, like Ami or Michiru.
  14. I can't believe the poll doesn't include "There should be no graphic sex" and "There should be minimal graphic sex". o.O Um, hello? Erotica and porn are two separate things. Bubble gum can be erotic without ever involving sex. Erotica does not mean sex, and it cheeses me that every story in the Erotic section is smut. Hmm... In fact, I think I'll go populate the Erotica section with some non-sex stories.
  15. I've seen this issue come up quite a bit on other sites, and it's popped up on this forum as well. I thought I would start a thread though that focused on the issue, rather than focussing on rants about the site or reviews. In short, a discussion thread aimed at the issue itself. realize that the topic dealt with this particular issue, but I wanted to start a discussion that is, well, un-ranty. Children From Maybe I'm Just Bitching Honestly, I don't get onto AFF very often these days, but after doing a number of searches, I can't think of a time where a story involving a child caught my attention. However I have to say that despite what I used to write when I was sixteen, I find it very disturbing that people would actually write something between an adult and child. It's as disturbing as that guy in Florida who had videos of adults having sex with two and three year olds. What I could understand a person being intrigued by is the emotional and psychological aspects of such a story. There are people [including myself] who might like to read a story involving sexuality in or with children with those aspects as the story's focus, but the majority of stories that occur are often explicit and focus on a pornographic nature. Adolescence From This is a Shame Minority is a tricky issue, and these days the minors couldn't even tell you what "age of consent" means. Where I come from, it's unusual for anybody to be a virgin after 14. Often times media is blamed for teenaged sex. Nobody stops and thinks about other possible factors, such as social and psychological issues. Even in fiction it's rare for people to stop and think about sexuality between two 'minors'. Normally it's simply considered a case of "raging teenage hormones." Rarely it's taken into account the alienation that adolescents encounter between the sexuality found in media [which adults allow them to watch,] sexualization among their peers [i'm a 20 year old virgin and ti's still frustrating being the only virgin in a group of 14 friends.] There is also the issue of sensory deprivation, specifically that of touch. You know how Moe on The Simpsons cries about how his daddy wouldn't hug him when he was young? That isn't so stupid as it sounds. As children grow older, physical affection between them and their parents dramatically declines. One of the reasons teenaged sex occurs is because those kids are trying to make up for the little physical contact they would otherwise receive. Frankly, I would like to see more writers focus on these kinds of aspects when involving minors, but it seems many people are too lazy to explore them. I could be wrong, but that's what it seems like. What are your thoughts on the involvement minors in adult fiction?
