Your reasoning makes perfect sense.  Unless you loathe gambling, if you stop in a casino and you start gambling, it’s really easy to lose track of time, though the 51 hours you cite is rather extreme.  Then again, most if not all records are an extreme of one form or another, for good or ill.

Are you sure that supercrazybonkers and something working are mutually exclusive? Maybe you need to be supercrazybonkers to make it work?

    Thank you, guys
I spent the evening at a stand up comedy show with my sisters, and it was absolutely brilliant. They are both mothers, so getting a night off in the city for themselves isn’t an easy thing, especially not on a school night, so it was even more fun to get to spend time with them alone, with no kids, even though I absolutely adore my nephews and nieces

Luckily, it did start acting up after an update (which IIRC included video drivers).  As the notes mentioned g-sync, and my issues had sync issues in them when piped through my KVM, my shrewd guess is that it was a bad driver (or something not properly configured).  So, downgrading the drivers back to the old ones will likely fix it (at least for now).

If your computer started acting up without you doing some other change to it first, I wouldn’t have my hopes raised too high.  And if the problem stuck around on your main computer after a card swap, especially if the removed card worked on your other machine (you never said,) then I would be looking at something on the main system board.
If you did a software patch or driver update to the O/S recently, rolling that back will hopefully roll the problem away.  Otherwise, hope for something “cheap and stupid,” like a memory module or different accessory card starting to go bad and impinging on system resources needed by the video card for the video to work correctly.
Good luck, whatever it turns out to be.

This actually reminded me of an old joke.  A driver’s education teacher is lecturing his class of fifteen year olds.  He told them:  “Over half of all automobile accidents happen within five miles of home.  What do you kids intend to do about that once you earn your driver’s licenses?”  A kid in the back of the classroom raises his hand, and the teacher calls on him.  The kid answers, “Move at least twenty miles away.”

Years ago, while visiting a friend & his GF, we went into a steak place, pretty fancy, one look at the menu prices ($50 to start), it was like “nope”.  Went back to go with a frozen pizza (cooked, of course), way better decision.

I’m not a fancy restaurant sort of person.  Firstly the prices are stupid.  Secondly, I feel out of place in them.  I don’t drink alcohol or coffee, but I do enjoy a good hot chocolate.  And I really don’t give a toss how fancy the food looks, only what it tastes like.  It’s all going to look the same the next day anyway.

I suppose that if you eat out that you go somewhere where you enjoy the food and the company, if you’re able.  I don’t mind “fancy” or gourmet (though my wallet sometime resents it,) but I try to avoid places where the chef goes “crazy-stupid” with the ingredients.  If the food’s good, I’ll also happily eat at a “family restaurant” or a fast-food joint.
For pizza, I’ll try to go to an actual pizza restaurant if possible, unless the “other” restaurant has a reputation for serving a very good pizza.

I find those places going “take-out” only to be rather annoying evolution post-pandemic.  It’s like… I can cook myself, so the point of going out to eat is the company & social aspect.
For when I’m driving long haul, I want the dining room as a “break” during driving, as my butt’s already in the car seat long enough.

I don’t care for restaurants where the food is pretentious, precious, or both. Now, I am a complete foodie, and I did work in restaurants when I was young (and spent my free time watching the chefs and asking questions), and I appreciate creativity and flair, but it needs to taste as wonderful as it looks, and I don’t want to leave a restaurant and feel like I need to stop for a slice of pizza on the way home because I’m still quite hungry.
And nothing beats a good pizza place, especially one of those little neighborhood places.

Andy is really not happy with me right now.  He’s dyslexic, barely avoided being forced to join a monastery at gunpoint, and just got stripped naked and spanked almost hard enough to need medical attention in front of a yard full of people he’s barely met.  And he also got disowned by his father in front of the same people.
