Hey everyone! I am so so so sorry about the long wait! Believe me, I was waiting on pins and needles to get back for many, many reasons, not the least of which was the fact that I left you all somewhat hanging! Which, I suppose, happens with a story like this, but I never like that fact. However! I have returned and am safe and healthy and, not the least, I have something that hopefully makes up for it: five new chapters! Would have liked to have more but work and everything. I shall be returning to writing soon once I’ve gotten myself settled back on land, but hope you enjoy the other chapters in the meantime! I’ve missed you all!

Hey everyone. Less than happy news, unfortunately. That time of work has come up again, meaning that I will once again be away for a while. I can’t give dates or exact times, but this will most likely be the longest I’ve been gone yet. I apologize that it comes so soon after my sabbatical and I wish that work would have been a little more flexible so I would have had that time to write more so you wouldn’t be left with one new chapter before I left, so I apologize once again. I will be working while I am gone and hopefully should have something worthwhile to show for it when I’m finally back. I want to thank you all once again for being such amazing fans and readers. All of you are amazing, whether you love the story or find plenty to critique about it. I always want to hear what you have to say, positive or negative. I’ll end up writing these next few chapters without feedback so hopefully they will be up to your standards. Unfortunately, can’t really affect the timeline of when I will be back, so I will post the second I can get back to my computer I hope you all stay safe and happy and that this new year brings you joy and happiness aplenty. Hey everyone! So, I know I usually publish a list of my ten best and worst films of the year...but I shall not be doing so this year. Mostly because I have not had the chance to go out and see a lot of films. At least, not enough to the point where I feel I can get a good view of the year in terms of film. If you really want to know, the best film I saw this year was Nomadland and the worst film I saw was Trump Card. That’s as much as I can give for this year. However! Because I don’t want to leave it at that and because I’ve been working on it for a while, I’ve decided to do something else: The Top Twenty Best and Worst Films of the 2010s. This list was a long time in the making and I was still adjusting it up to the 11th hour. I ‘m sure there will be things I change my mind about down the road but this is as concrete as I can make it. My basic rules for the lists were I would only put one film per director, one film per genre (animated, superhero film from a particular studio, etc) and I also avoided easy films like Birdemic for the Worst Of list. Chapter 147 is finally up! I apologize for the wait on this one. A combination of work, easing back into the writing, and the emotional toll of the chapter itself were contributing factors but I really hope that it was worth the wait. Hey everyone! Just looked at the last time I messaged and couldn’t believe how long it’s been! I hope you’re all doing well and have had plenty of time to relax and take care of yourselves and find the joy in your lives. This hiatus has actually been very good for me. Free from the self-obligation of attempting to get out a chapter at least every two weeks, I’ve taken a step back and can kind of look at the scope of everything and while I can honestly say I wouldn’t change anything up until this point, I’m going to be reevaluating how characters are and so forth from here on out. What does that mean? You’ll have to wait and see. I don’t know that I will be starting the next chapter this month but I almost certainly will be by December, hopefully ready for Christmas! Thank you all so much for your support and criticisms and comments. It really means so much to me. I miss you all and I promise I shall return soon!

Hey everyone! So, I wanted to give some time for people to read the chapter before posting again. To settle the first matter right away: no, this is not the end of the story. Not at all! There will be more to come. However! I will be taking a short sabbatical from the story. After six straight years of working on it, I’ve yet to hit a point where writer’s block or exhaustion has kicked in, but just to ensure it doesn't actually hit, I’ll take some time away, let the story stay as it is before returning to it. I’ve got another project that I’ve been starting and I want to focus on that for a little while. Having two big writing projects at once is a rough prospect and isn’t much good for my mental faculties. Never fear, though! I will not be gone forever and I will send updates when I have started working again. I’m not gonna leave you all in the lurch! Second matter: after careful consideration, I have decided I will not be publishing this story. There are a few reasons for it, first and foremost of which is that this story just would not work as a book. Or as a series of books for that matter. Critics of the story are correct: it is rather rambly and follows its own format in terms of narrative. An ongoing online series works well for it but trying to constrain it to bindings and separate books is not truly feasible and I feel would hurt what I’ve done. This story has become a form of therapy for me and however much it might be improved by trimming back on the details and streamlining the story, I don’t want that to happen. It will stay as it is. My project that I will be working on may be published, but that is a story I am writing specifically for a book format, so we will see what happens there. So once more, this is not a goodbye. Just a ‘till we see each other again’. You are all the best fans and readers a writer could hope for. I promise that when I return, I will be putting just as much effort into the story as I have so far; hopefully a little time away can help it feel fresh and I can return with a new flourish. I do miss the days where it was a bit easier to have consistent conversations on the boards, but after a story has gone on as long as this, I understand that there is not as much anyone can really say about it.
