Hopefully, I should be able to put it out around Wednesday or so but I will give you an exact date when I'm able to judge it more accurately. Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of updates. Been very busy recently. Unfortunately, still no ETA on Chapter 22 but I am working hard on it. Usual reasons: work, sleep, blah blah blah. You know what I'm going to say. Sorry for the wait but I think I've found a way to work on the story at work. I'll probably just have to exclude sex scenes when I'm writing, just in case someone peaks over my shoulder and wonders what the hell I'm doing. Should be up soon! *fingers crossed*

However, since Christmas is a time to be thankful, I'm not going to toot my own horn. Instead, I'm going to thank all of you. You've helped transform this little story I wrote one day into something greater than I could have ever imagined it would be. Chapter 21 is up! So sorry this one took a while. Usual excuses: life, work, etc. But this chapter in particular...it struck me kinda close to the heart. Not just for story content but for what it made me remember. I'm going to continue to have this story reflect what's happened to me in my life, no matter what, but some things are more painful than others. Particularly here. I warned you that this wasn't exactly a happy chapter. Just to prepare you. In further news, I have switched shifts at work so my original 0800-1600 shift is now 2200-0600. That's right...overnight. Now, this actually may be a good thing because I'm finding myself with a bit more time during the day to write. Hopefully, this will mean chapters will come out quicker. Don't want to promise anything but the past couple of days I've been on this shift, I've had a bit more time on my hands. I would love to get the next Chapter out by Christmas but I will keep you updated with progress and whatnot. Hope you all enjoy! Hope it was worth the wait! And talk to you all again soon

Hey guys. So...not really an update but I just got through writing a section in this chapter (two-thirds of the way done, btw) and it had me in tears by the end of it and I actually had to step away from the story for a little while because it brought back some really painfully memories (not with my wife but other stuff in my life) and it was so painfully I actually had to convince myself to come back to the story because I knew it needed to get done. Why did I come back? Well, two reasons. First of all, this is my story and I damn well need to see it through. Second...is you guys. You guys are all fantastic. Those of you who came from xnxx or those who just started reading the story here...you're all amazing fans and amazing readers and every comment you leave, whether praise or not, means a lot to me. It helps get me through the rough patches and carry on. So, yeah, this part I'm at really kinda tears me up a bit inside but you guys are worth it and I want you to know that I am plowing ahead through the chapter and I hope to have it up in the next couple of days. Thank you all so much for being so supportive and giving me more support, praise, and encouragement than I ever thought I deserved. Love, Joe

Halfway point update! And...just wow, guys. I don't think I've laughed so hard in a long time reading all the 'theories' on where the story might be headed. Like...jeez, now I feel distinctly uncreative. I mean...wow. Thank you guys. This is fantastic stuff! Although, to be honest, bits and pieces from several of the posts, mixed together (I'm not going to say which ones), actually kind of, sort of might point in the direction the next chapter is headed. Again, not going to say which ones, but no fair you guys guessing stuff

Hey everyone! Sorry for the lack of an update on Chapter 21 but things have been really hectic, what with Thanksgiving and having to shift to Christmas-mode so I've been really busy so here's a quick update! The chapter is coming along. I'm almost halfway done with it and I think the second half will go quicker (I will elaborate in a little). As to the actors I thought would be good for film roles of this story, it's all purely subjective. You are free to see who you want in the roles but, as someone pointed out, I chose them more for personality than body-match. I think Emma Watson is not only beautiful but she's also got a very good tough and vulnerable side that I've seen in her performances that matches very well with how I think Kayla is. Specifically, her performance in The Perks of Being a Wallflower is very much how I see Kayla acting once she is a Senior. There's also this great sense I get from watching her act that she has a lot of patience and understanding but isn't completely fooled when someone is just yanking her chain which, again, is how I see Kayla. Do their boobs match? Honestly, I don't know. I haven't been looking at Emma Watson's breasts. Honestly, it's all personality and acting but if you see someone else in the role, fantastic. Now, on a little sobering note regarding the next chapter...it's not necessarily going to be a happy one. I'm not going to reveal yet which decision Jack goes with but, either way, it's not going to be a light-hearted chapter. Just wanted to warn you guys in case you were caught off-guard. That's all I'm going to say about it but let's just say I've had a few tears writing the parts I've written so far. Are they happy tears? Sad tears? You'll have to find out but it's going to be a little more morose than you guys might be used to. I'll post as the chapter comes closer to completion but just figured you guys deserved an update

I'm a little ways into Chapter 21 since Thanksgiving kind of derailed a few plans, but I'm working really hard on it right now and I'll hopefully have it up soon coz you guys are awesome

So, I see a few questions out in the field, so I figure I'll address them really quick. First off, I would love to have a set release schedule but, at this point, I'm not sure that's entirely feasible. My job takes up most of my day and requires me to get to bed fairly early so, during weekdays, I only have a short amount of time to write. I can promise that I will continue to give updates but that's about all I can promise. Second, something that I've wanted to address for a little bit but I figure would be a good time now, I've noticed a lot of people wondering why Jack is so perfect and 'vanilla'. It's a perfectly valid opinion if you think this and I would never be so arrogant as to say someone's interpretation of my work is incorrect, but I would ask this question: is Jack really perfect? Another very important question...who is telling the story? Am I telling the story or is Jack telling the story, from his point of view? I've had a lot of people send me messages, telling me that they can see that Jack is nowhere near perfect, it's just how he sees and justifies his actions that makes him seem perfect. Now, do you have to have this view as well? Absolutely not. Like I said, you interpret it as you will. But take a step out of Jack's head and look at what he does from an outsider's perspective, who doesn't know Jack. Is he a white knight, pure of heart, or is he more along the lines of, say, a control freak who needs everything just so? I've heard a lot of different theories and interpretations and they're all very fun. I've also had a surprising number of people ask me who I would cast in the roles were this story made into a movie. I would certainly love to see the cast that other people come up with but here are the actors I see in the roles, as they are now: Jack- Kodi Smit-Mcphee Kayla- Emma Watson Amanda- Chloe Grace Moretz Alan- Asa Butterfield Joe- Frankie Muniz (later Malcolm in the Middle years) Craig- Jackie Gleeson Brad- Evan Peters Belle- Rachel Hurd-Wood Becca- Sophie Turner Tara- Emma Roberts Unfortunately, I don't have many ideas for the adults but I'd love to hear what other people think. I've gotten a couple pages into Chapter 21 so I better get back

Hey everyone WOW! The turnout of ideas from the end of Chapter 20 has been incredible! And not just for the number of opinions both on here and in my private messages, but for the content. You've all provided very good, very strong reasoning for both sides of the issue. I think I've come to a decision on what's going to happen in Chapter 21 but I reserve the right to alter it as needed should I see an extra compelling reason in the opposite direction. What did I decide to do? Well, that would be telling In answer to what some have pointed out and asked me about...yes, I did go through a bit of what Jack does in Chapter 20 after a good friend of mine killed himself. I saw him literally less an hour before he died and it's always kind of haunted me. I didn't actually see it happen, of course, but it hit me like a sledgehammer. For Jack, I had to sit down and honestly delve deep into those feelings I had and try to imagine what it would have been like had I seen my friend kill himself. That's partly why this chapter took a bit longer; writing those parts took a toll on me and I would occasionally have to leave the computer for a while just because it was difficult to go back there. SO, dour note aside, thank you so much for the feedback and, by all means, keep it coming. I will do my usual updates with the progress of Chapter 21 and I plan on doing at least one more 'readers poll' somewhere down the line

Chapter 20 is up Hope it was worth the wait. Little bit of business: at the end of the chapter, Jack has to make a decision. Because so many people have gotten invested in this story, I would love to get some opinions on what the audience thinks Jack should do next If you want to post here or send me a message, feel free to do so. I would love to hear your ideas and why you think so. Yes or no, I will use the winning side to help formulate the next chapter. I can work with either option. Enjoy!

Okay, final post before I give you a specific date, but just wanted to let everyone know Chapter 20 will be done this week. That's a promise. Saturday at the ABSOLUTE latest. It's closing in on the end (it's a rather long one) but it's needed. As for it ending in a cliffhanger...let's just say that, if it does, it will be nowhere near as big as Chapter 19

Hey guys. Just an update: I was able to get a nice big chunk of writing done this weekend, but I decided to extend the chapter just a bit more. I realized that, if I released it as it was, the next chapter was going to be criminally short. So I'm taking a little more time to extend it. You guys are saints to be so patient and I'm sorry to ask you to wait just a bit longer but I promise, cross my heart, that I'm working to get it done soon. After this chapter, things will be smoother with release dates. Just trying to get back into the swing of it and getting used to my new job is...well, wonky. I know, excuses excuses. I'm getting back to writing so I can get it out this week. That I DEFINITELY want to accomplish. This week.

Halfway done! Nice, long, relaxing weekend to write so hopefully I'll make some serious headway. The first part of this chapter took a little longer because (well, okay the exam, but ASIDE from that...) it dealt with some really personal feelings that I experienced when I lost my friend and bringing them up...wasn't easy. Second half should be easier, though, so I'm writing like a madman.

Unfortunately, at this point, I'm not exactly sure of when the next chapter will be done. I'm closing in on finishing one-third of it so hopefully soon but it just depends on how much I can get done per day. When I have more definite answers, I will let you all know right away.

Passed the exam with flying colors now time to get back to writing. I have a LOT of time to make up for lol

I am working on it as much as I can. I have a big exam to study for that is required to keep my current job so, for the time being, I'm focusing on that. Once that is complete, I can devote all my energy to the next chapter
