  1. As an update, I think I’ve kicked my fallout habit (which was interfering with writing...), time will tell. Dale’s Game, chapters 9-12, and most of 14 are basically finished. Yes, I’m holding back on posting chapters, likely until I complete 19, because this section is very prone to deus ex, which I want to avoid, and so the details need to be consistent. (And “19” is just an estimate as chapters can split off, what happened yesterday leaving 14 about a thousand words short of being done...) Once this section of chapters is done, I expect to resume posting. Cheers, - DP
  2. PWPs can be useful, so I won’t dismiss them. I started writing a PWP a few years ago (still unpublished), and the questions that arose out of, well, it became a jumping off point to the original stories that I am publishing. Once I evolve my universe/stories to the point in time that the PWP occurs, it won’t be so much PWP anymore.
  3. Words are starting to flow, now unstuck (and maybe over my fallout 4 addiction, we’ll see), so now making progress on chapter 13 for Dale’s game!

  4. It’s tough to tell. My best metric has been to record the dragon prints (hit counter). When I see that it goes up a hundred hits in a day after I post a chapter, consistently, then it’s reasonable to conclude that there are people who are enjoying it. Some people say it doesn’t matter, but it does, because I wouldn’t put as much effort in to polish/post the chapters otherwise. And when you get somebody who’s reviewing, consistently, cherish them
  5. Cash *is* a review, IMO.
  6. I’ve got original, unfinished, stories with a load of warning tags, so, yeah, I kinda feel like my stories are underappreciated given the hit counter and handful of reviews. However, I also recognize that there’s an element of luck here, either your brilliance is found out, or not. Some marketing does help the odds, but in the end, it’s still luck.
