Awww… there were only two of us (my brother and I), but my Mom is one of eleven! How my grandparents used to deal with that, I have no idea. Wow… 
I get the impression from hearing her speak of it that it was a bit of a free for all type thing, lol.

Growing up, we were given choices.  Presents on birthday or Christmas.  My poor parents.  Four of the five of us have November and December birthdays.

You’ve got my sympathy. There’s only one birthday around christmastime for me. Any more and I think I would go insane.

I have oodles of birthdays, and several anniversaries in my fam this time of year.  It’s always traumatic.

Ah… overtime. I remember it well. Back when we had good factory jobs and a decent industrial strategy. And a nice strong union. I was happy to work sixteen hour days then. Eight on production, eight on cleaning. My wages were immense. *sighs*
Mr xxxxx used to walk the factory floor, and everyone used to like him. Then big business bought the company so it was no longer family run. It was crap after that. For all two thousand of us.

Good thing about working holidays is holiday pay!

And I am reminded that others have it far, far worse. Thankfully, I can now pretend this morning didn’t happen.
DG, I am so sorry you have to work today! That’s awful! If I ever have the means, one day I will save you from it, I swear to all the Gods who might be watching.
Bronx, that turkey will provide hours of entertainment to Freyja, who will sit in front of the oven to make sure it doesn’t move at all. Honestly, my dogs understand the phrase: “Chicken tonight!” and scamper about in excitement before I even put it in. I can’t wait to try out: “Turkey tonight!” on them again.
