  1. I'm one of those that class people as people. We're all human, we all make mistakes, we all love.

I'm not homophobic, but there are people out there that are, and will make life difficult for those that are homosexual. I'm bisexual, but I have have a Master, and most of my other partners have been male - would that make me straight?

I have gay friends - my best friend is gay - and lesbian friends. I celebrate Pride, but do I want to know what goes on behind closed doors with my gay friends? No thanks, what goes on behind closed doors is their business. Same with the lesbian friends, and same with the straight friends I have.

Homophobia to me is something that shouldn't still be around, but is. It is just there for me, I don't get angry at it, but I do shoot the person who has said something homophobic a rather fierce look. They either get the message that I won't stand for it and leave, or I leave if they ignore me.

My sort-of-MIL is very homophobic, and racist. I try not to let my children around her (and the rest of that side of the family for that matter.) - All be cause I don't want my kids to have an OPINION forced onto them.

I swear my youngest is gay, granted he's 3 years old and I shouldn't say that, but the way he can act some times is likened to how my best friend can act when he's in a giddy mood.

I act like I'm all my female friends lesbian lover when out with them, I was once dropped off at the train station after spending the night at one of my friends, got asked if I was waiting for "him", and turned around with a huge "cat got the cream" grin and said "No, SHE just dropped me off." The look on the males face was a picture.

The fact someone was called homophobic over not watching Brokeback Mountain is a silly reason. Saying that, I feel the same way when someone comes out with a Transphobic comment. Once again, they're human, and a person in their own right, so what if they identify as the opposite gender than what they were born as? They can love, they can feel, and they deserve to be treated equally. EVERYONE deserves to be treated equally.

In the words of lady gaga (don't care for her either way) "Baby, you were born this way."

  2. On another forum I'm on there is a thread where you can write to your 16 year old self, and actually participating in that thread has sparked off something in me, so thought I'd add it here for others to try and do... (This has also sparked off an idea for a fic for me..)

    So, yeah..

    Dear 16 year old me;

Stay in college, even if you switch what you want to do. I know the first month is hard, but if you don't you'll end up getting pregnant at 18, then at 19 with someone who breaks your trust and stuck in a relationship that you can't get out of.

Don't listen to those that are spreading vicious names about you, you will just take them in and then end up on anti-depressants over various stages of your life.

Stick with the singing, and the writing. Through them you earn some great friends later on, and eventually fall for someone.

Don't rush into things with people who worm their way back in from your early teens, it'll just end up in heartache.

And remember, while the pain stops the numbness, you'll only end up scarring yourself for life.

Appreciate your grandma, she won't be around long, and you will miss her daily.

Keep eating, while you may think being a size 8 is appealing, it isn't worth the daily bone cracking and pain when you're older.

Don't start smoking, and stay away from the drink.

Out there is someone who loves you for you. There will be an age gap, but at the end of the day, that age gap means nothing to either of you and you're happy for the first time since you were a child. Don't give up and let people walk over you. You're worth more than that and deep down, you know that.

    Love,

    Me aged 23.

  3. So, I have been busy with my NaNo recently, and have an utter gem for you lot..

"They looked at each other for a second before bursting into googles."

and another two from a chatroom..

My mum just sext me that she's having fun in scarborough..

    Uh TEXT not sext..

if the typo fairy doesn't leave me alone I will cream

    obviously I meant scream

  4. my first flame is in my sig, but today I got this one that really made me giggle.

I am so fucking tired of people writing stories that makes Ron sound stupid. So fucking tired of that fucking bullshit. All I can say is fuck this story. Giving this story a negative 10 out of 100.

whereas the other 11 reviews are basically saying "we want more!"

Ahh, gotta love people who only read the one chapter and nothing else by the author that actually favours the characters they've just "bashed"

  5. I had a huge rant about this yesterday to a friend who had no idea what a MS is.

There are varying opinions on a a MS, I admit that. My version is certainly leaning more towards the "uberly perfect, no flaws what so ever, everyone falls in love with within seconds" MS.

Even my oldest works don't have a MS in there. I'm not one to write one, I never have written one, I am physically and mentally incapable of writing one. I think it comes from the fact that none of my friends have never been perfect, and I draw parts of their personalities and add them to my writing to characters that match their personality to a point, but are totally different. (for example, I can take a females friends very hyper, bubbly personality and add it to someone who at the end of the day, may have a psychological problem, and harm themselves.)

I try make characters that people warm too, and I have thus succeeded in that with my Originals, and even with some OCs in the Harry Potter universe. I have reviews from people who hate OCs, who have loved mine. (they have also loved the actual story too, even if I think its utter crap)

One of my female characters is very fiercely protective of her family and friends, but when it gets too much for her she lashes out at the very people she tries to protect. you see the gradual build up with the small things she does. She doesn't believe that everyone loves her, and will often deny it until she is proven wrong. she isn't a stick thin size 0 model body, she is an "average" body (a size 14 in UK sizes), if a bit "thick" around the middle. She sings, but she isn't good enough to have landed a record deal at the age of 16 and become an overnight billionairess, she is a bookshop worker and sings along to the radio to cheer up customers. She is also the main caregiver to her cousin. Granted the only MS trait she has, is the fact she has owned her house since she left school, that she bought with "daddys money".

Anyway, enough about that.. tis my opinion and thats all ;)

  6. You may have read this one before, but it is worth a 2nd read I think!! LOL.

    THE GAY FLIGHT ATTENDANT:

My flight was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant, who seemed to put everyone in a good mood as he served us food and drinks.

As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and told us that 'Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing the big scary plane shortly, so lovely people, if you could just put your trays up, that would be super.'

On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed this well-dressed and rather Arabic looking woman hadn't moved a muscle. 'Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines but I asked you to raise your trazy-poo, so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground.'

She calmly turned her head and said, 'In my country, I am called a Princess and I take orders from no one.'

To which (I swear) the flight attendant replied, without missing a beat,

'Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country I'm called a Queen, so I outrank you. Tray-up, Bitch!'

  7. Quidam

JayDee "Quidam - Interesting message - basically, don't fear strangers, right? You were obviously a lot less intimidated by that prompt than me :)"

to a point, it did mean that. I was thinking of my own fear of strangers as I slink away from them or into the shadows if I have a chance, and at one point one of my friends did actually say there is nothing to be afraid of. *end random ramble*

As for being a lot less intimidated by it, I was very happy for a change of pace to Harry Potter challenges I've been doing, and the pairing (Hunter/Kitten) seemed to fit that particular prompt without forcing it

  8. There was one on the list that I didn't agree with, and that's the babies one. Granted you're right with the "they not toddlers after 5 minutes" but both my children opened their eyes within a couple of hours.

Also some births can take hours, and others can be over before you know it, I went into labour with my second at around 7:30, and he was born at 9:14pm, that was an hour and about 44 minutes (first born was about 4 hours from waters breaking til birth). It mainly does depend on the person. Not everyone is that lucky, my friend was in labour (early stages) for almost a month (I have no idea how she dealt with it).

Also there is a natural birth, or if there's complications there is caesarian section, but most people do opt for natural births, with or without pain relief of gas and air, epidural, TENS machine. also another more interesting one is a water birth, but that would be hard to tackle if you've never had one... though, so is writing about labour in general (as I figured out myself while trying to write a scene including a birth)

mPreg is also something, that when done right, can be good, but when done wrong, can leave you cringing for days
