As twisted as Magus is, every time we think we got him figured out, he manages to mess with our heads. Kara going after at least dad for sure, and who's to say that mom wasn't forced into helping, obviously she's been subject to the same abuse that the kids have been. The reason he wanted the building Max wants for the school was most likely to start an orphanage there, to start his own little either holding area for the "import" kids, or training similar to what Volstock had going on. There should probably be a little inspection of the other properties that dear old dad owns, just to see how really bad he is. No one knew what was happening to Kara, so my guess any scars, or bruises are going to be on places not normally visible (covered with clothes), the hardest part for Kara is during Gym class when the girls are all changing, The worst part for her aren't the physical scars she has, or may have, sadly, her mind is probably almost as trashed as Max or the twins'. Keep in mind, it's been going on for almost 10 years for her, therefore it's almost become "normal" for her to have that happen. "Normal" is relative.... what is normal for one person, may be extreme to someone else's sensibilities. Tali, Jazz, and the orphans, pain, suffering, beatings, all of that became normal for them, love, caring, tenderness were foreign concepts to them. For some people, having a beer at 8am is normal, for others, that would be seen as a problem. Not understanding other's circumstances tends to lead people to judge based on their own sensibilities. That is the biggest hurdle for Max so far, for the twins, "playing" was normal for them, to Max, it offended everything he had been taught as a "taboo". Sometimes, society tries telling people that as a blanket rule, something isn't right, where for individuals it's their normal. Max, loving Petra, and Emma similar is a social taboo, to them, it's perfectly normal and natural. Sorry, don't mean to ramble but, it almost begs to be said.... Don't judge others, you haven't lived their life.

I know magus that you are trying to update soon. but what can I do your cliffhangers are killing me.. so I keep bugging.. and about the whips.. can't say anything.. if you don't post the next chapter soon .. I just might. a little . .. ha ha.. ( you guys are so funny )

Jane wasn't in this chapter but she is in the next, she plays a minor role here and there, kinda like Han does Everyone there was one of Early's people so it's still contained...besides who would believ some EMT who said a six year old girl was performing field surgery?

The plan is to let Amy and Alice at the mercs while Kara says high to Daddy...should be a lot of fun!

So, Rescue pointed out that I didn't mention Kara's scars, but I wanted emphasize that Stacey doesn't even see them...I know Alice comments in her head on them, and Max notices them, but Stacey doesn't or actually she does but they're a non issue, like Max's scars with the girls, he cares about the, but the girls actually like them

Hey everyone! First of all, before the Reality Check, a couple things. First, a big, enthusiastic welcome-back to DarkRomantics to the forums. Missed having you! Second, congratulations to JohnnyBanana on his official account Welcome aboard. All right, time for the Reality Check! - Jack's tossing of all his old materials is exactly what I did at the end of every school year. Nothing felt better than my heavy-ass backpack now light as a feather and not needing to be filled for several months. - A lot of Kayla's dialogue comes directly from my wife, including most of the zingers. Verbatim. I made sure to ask her permission before I used them. - The pool party was an amalgamation of several pool parties I've had over the years, mostly drawn from one in particular at the end of my Junior year. The conversations and the pool they were at are drawn from that, while other finer details come from other parties. - The description of Tara's house is based very much on the area where my cousin's family used to live, mixed with some of my ideal features of homes I would like to live in once we move. That's all I got for now. I've started work on Chapter 30 and hopefully it should clip along at a nice pace. We shall see. Hope you all are well and see you soon!

Good chapter but now that you are winding 'GITG' down we need more details and less sex. So, I actually was conflicted on the title to chapter 60 as well. The chapter doesn't focus on Turner per se but on the evil he's done and the pain he's caused. I had initially thought to call it Echoes. You know that our deeds are the echoes of who we are, they are what linger as we passs through this world. But I thought that was too maudlin (I kno, I know...the whole damn story is laced with morbidity, buy this time I stood fast ) So, since the chapter covers Turners latest sins, I thought I should just name the echo...sort of like a metaphysical personel file Oh and just cause I'm a nice guy, here's a little crumb to tide you over" Girls In The Grass Chapter 61: A Daughter's Love

or does Max let it slip that Kara's father is a pauper comepared to him & that he could easily make sure that the town drunk replaces the judge after the next election.
