at present, i have four WIPs going on at once. three of them are in the Harry Potter category while the other one is in the originals section. i've found that i can't work on just one.

in point of fact, i have worked on up to six at a time.

generally, i write one chapter for one story, then cycle through them. one for each and then back to the beginning. there's just too much going on in my head to allow me to only work on one at a time. and we won't talk about the bunnies that jump up and bite me at random intervals. i have so many ideas jotted down, parts of stories written down.... just general ideas that it isn't even funny.

even now, there are two ideas that are in my head, vying for the right to be put down on paper first.

let's not even include what i have on my laptop and the other story i'm working on on paper for publishing possibilities......

Well - I have finally finished the really big one I was working on - all 33 chapters or so. Now I have a bit more time to work on my other things a bit more diligently. I have 4 Final Fantasy one shots in the works right now, one original story, the beginnings of the next installment of my Questions Arc (which I've put on the back burner for far too long - Squall and Seifer have threatened to resign as my muses if I don't get my ass moving on them), another Harry Potter one shot (although I think I'll wait for the last book to come out and go from there on it), and one Vampire story that will probably never see AFF because I'm thinking of trying to get it published... and then there are my Murphy stories... all 7 of them. I'm a bit busy - but as I pick up one when the feeling strikes me it's no big thing.

madlodger,

yes, i'm the one responsible for The Harlequin. that one came from reading a couple of one shots. i love how its coming together so far and i'm glad you enjoy it.

yes, i write one chapter on each fic, moving in a continuous circle so that they're always (almost) updated one after another. perhaps not right away. there've been updates that have been months in coming. i think we all go through those moments when your brain seizes up and won't produce anything for what you're working on. i don't believe in "writer's block" because that would imply you can't write anything. you can still write, but just not on what you want to write on. i've gone through many of those. we all know that RL is a bitch and a half at times.

okay. let me think about this. four stories running on AFF. one for posting that's on paper. plus the one on my laptop. so actually... six WIPs. plus about a dozen or so bits of ideas and partially started fics on paper. you should see the notes i have laying scattered about. there's soooooo much stuff.

people have told me that i think about things too much. does this prove it? i just can't stop my brain for very long.

thanks for the star.

and sorry about the font. i play and never know what its going to look like until its posted. i'll try not to do that anymore.

Just one longer story at a time ... oh, oneshots don't really count.

It's a matter of creativity, when I'm busy with one story I tend to concentrate on it to the point when it fills every moment of my free time. And writing certain characters I become them so ... I can't be three people at a time ^__^

But seriously ... one story is quite a lot to juggle, if I need it to be good, I need to spend time on it and other stories would just interrupt. Plus, this one story sucks all my ideas up and even if I try to think of some other story, I just can't, my thoughts automatically come back to the story I'm writing and I can't 'stray'.

Does that answer your question?

Damn it! I wrote up a response and accidentally hit some key that ate it before I could post it! angry.gif To summarize what my still half-asleep brain said; I've tried juggling up to six stories and it was a disaster. Two at a time seems to be my limit. Sorry, my other answer was better and more detailed. sad.gif

Opposite here. All my writing is done at night.

Oh, and my muse is also most active at night (what? the pen name didn't give that away?) tongue.gif

I think the most I've juggled at a time was 3 or 4. With long one-shots included. Only two multi chaptered stories at one time though. Sometimes I've started off on a story then work on another. lol.

My current official WIP's are:

The lost Cadre: AnK AU fic. Approximately 130K and roughly half finished.

In The shadows In The Light: Weiss fic. Approximately 135K and roughly 3/4's done.

Saiyuki Serial: Beautifully Broken Evolution: Saiyuki fic. Approximately 150K. It'll be done when it tells me it's done.

The Bleach Ficlet: Bleach fic. Approximately 40K. It'll be done when it tells me it's done.

Blind Desire: Original. About 47K. Approximately 3 chapters left to write.

Balancing Karma: Original. 100K. Approximately 2/3's done.

Enchanted Shadows: Original. Roughly 27K. Going through beta.

In addition to that, I have things I've had to move to the back burner because it was simply too much to do all at once.

Push The Limits: FF8. About 20K. Maybe 1/4 done.

Idol Worship: FF7/FF8 cross-over connected to Push the Limits. About 40K. it will end when Limits does.

Tasting Transcendence: Original. 56K. About 1/3 done.

Dreaming Of The void: Original. About 35K. Maybe 1/4 done.

Throwing The Bones: Original. 15K. Prelude and first chapter written.

I also write one-shots and songfics and other things that jump out at me. I've also got 3 more original pieces that are lined up to be written as soon as I canfind the time to do them.

I don't update as often as I used to as my body protested quite strongly what I was doing by writing like a mad-woman. I also tend towards things of epic proportions so when an individual chapter comes in at 15-20K... updates can sometimes take a little bit.

I have several stories in the fires, but what really halted them was the Muses go on vacation with them.

So I go to maybe two or three stories that I can actively work on and wait till the Muses return from their vacation.

I had finished one story that took me over four years to complete! Four damn years to complete!

But I went back to it over time and worked on it slowly but I managed to get it finished and posted on the net.

I’m working on 2 stories right now. Both are multi-chaptered and are thus taking forever and a day to get done. I really should look into drafting some one shots, but I find it difficult to cram a story, a premise, and believable in-character sex together in just a few thousand words.

The last thing I want to do is sweat and slave for over a year on an epic porn story, and yet that’s what my muse hands me. I don’t think I could handle more than 2 projects at once, even while I’ve got ideas for about 14 or so.

After writing 23 chapters of my first writing pron story, I have been putting energies into some other fics, all of which I thought of before XSFGC, XSFGC was just the one that actual prompted me to start typing at the computer.

I have three different novel length stories that I continually add to the background info (characters, events, etc, etc) but I really don't have confidence in my scribe skills at this time to pull them off, so i continue to just add to the background information.

Currently I am working on a Jagged Alliance 2 1.13 fan fiction (JA2 is a computer game) that will be rated X and an original one shot mind control pron story that I see hitting around 30K. Supposedly I am editing/writing synopsis/note taking on XSFGC but that is kind of boring and the urge to skip over the chapter that I lost and write a different chapter is strong right now.

At the moment I have several stories I work on, all of them are mult-chaptered and set in different fandoms.

When I started writing I wrote one story after the other, and only started a new one when I was indeed finished with the one before.

But now I don't have much problems to switch back and forth between them. It's also some kind of variety.

If I'm in a good mood, I work on my fics containing humor, for example. On the other hand, if I'm melancholy or angry, I can put these feelings into one of the other stories....

I PREFER to concentrate on one at a time, that way it can have all my energy and devotion and I can finish it and not loose my momentem and enthusiasm for what I am writing... (Too many stories and plot bunnies and I lose interest or get stories confused or have reviewers hounding me that stuff isn't being 'churned' out fast enough for them.)

After saying that though, I do currently have one 2 WIP and at one time had 4 going. Even though I got great reviews *I* didn't like the work and could tell it was rushed and not up to my usual strict standards. So, I just concentrate on one at a time now.

My biggest problem is not that my muse never cooperates, its that he won't shut up! Really, I get ideas at least three times a week for new fics and novels, so I'm constantly writing new works. This annoyes my readers, for which I apologize, but if I don't write when the inspiration hits me, it just won't get written. For example, I'm rotating all of my WIP Gundam Wing fics while I am constantly writing at least 5 pages of my novel Solstice a day.

WIP:

Gundam Wing Hentai: this will never be finished because it is an anthology and thus doesn't have to have an ending and I hope that sooner or later other people will write stories for it (nudge nudge)

My Angel

Black Heart

Midnight Serenade

A Stagnation of Love: both the Gundam Wing one and my original work. Let me clarify: there is an ending, but I plan to rewrite both of them, so I don't consider them complete

Dearly Departed

Truth or Dare

Solstice: my original work

Tears of the wolf: see A stagnation of love, same issues

Violence + Sex = Love

To love you 'til death

Ethereal

The Music Box Trilogy

Sleep's a Privelage, not a right

Shame and Betrayal

Gundam Wing Fairy Tales

Friday

Fight Club

Dark Side of the Heart

Death

Change of Heart

The sad part is, these are not all of my fics, just the ones I have on AFF so the list is much, much longer.

Damn plot bunnies *laughs*

yeah I'm a juggler...I've been juggling about 6 stories for a while now...hopefully i'll get a couple of them posted.

Blood For blood(the sequel to Vampire Games)just started it

Herbal tea(origional)

Death and berry(origional)

Wild(origional)

I'm even working on two sequals for Chocolate Swirls. (my first origional)

*big grin* i have a lot of work ahead of me...

...but by brain cramps up so I'm switching back and forth constantly!

I need some kind of ghost writer...no...no that's not honest work...

I'll do this on my own...I can do this. *smiles* heck Sylvia Brown put out hundreds of books on her own! *fires up* I CAN DO THIS!!!
