So the job program I’m in, that’s been taking up all my time and getting in the way of me writing awesome shit, is going to end in 2 weeks. Right on my birthday. Part of me really hopes I get a job out of this. Nothings more stressful than wondering how you’re going to survive the month. 

But a huuuuge part of me – the big fat hermit with the mullet and the shotgun that lives in the back of my shoulders – wants to get time to myself again. I miss being able to stay up all night, writing for 10 hours straight, and following that with a 4 hour betaing session for friends. I’ve been a writer for 18 years – more than half my life. I have no idea how the majority of you guys are able to work all day and still have the mental capacity to churn out a page or two. 

I shared a huge post on Facebook about it but long story short, my “distraction” was I finally became pregnant but now I’m miscarrying. I’m trying to go back to my normal ways but it is so hard and I am grieving. I just want you guys to be patient with me as I go through this, if you’ve been reading anything of mine.

So, today marks another milestone...  Through doubts and all, Blood and Honour has received 1000 dragon prints.

Oh. My. God. Howl’s Moving Castle is an amazing movie. Now I have to go devour the rest of Studio Ghibli’s films I’ve been procrastinating about watching for years. If I disappear for another month, blame Turnip head.

Got super inspired for a scene on Blackbird this morning while listening to Megan Mullally sing “Guilty”. Grabbed my laptop, opened up chappie seventeen, then the inspiration just friggin floated away. Where the frig did it go?! So if y’all see this bitch floating around somewhere, tell em to come home to mama. I got a pair of shackles with its flaky bitchass name on em.

On the bright side, my computer has finally decided to update to the latest version of Windows 10, after I manually updated Windows Update.

I want to write. Soooo bad. But I’m in one of those funks where I feel like everything I touch is pointless, even if I know it’s going well. The frustration of it has become a irate buzzing at the tips of my nerves. My skin is crawling, my spine and shoulders feel primed to crack. My typing fingers itch and the words in my head yearn to alleviate them, but every little distraction echoes through my head loud and painful like a gunshot. 

I just want to scream or break shit or cry, but I can’t do those, so emoting all over my profile was the next best thing. I know what’s causing this, but knowledge apparently isn’t a cure. Damnit. 

So…  Warning rant ahead…

Perhaps I am quite close to the written material I have up.  Perhaps I’m just stubborn…  Pigheaded…  Wouldn’t be the worst thing I’ve been called…  And I’m willing to take some fair concrit when it comes to the stories, even the ones I am most proud of…  The latest review that I received for Blood and Honour was neither concrit nor supportive, in my belief.

I read the entire chapter before I review, before I form an opinion.  Being told, off the bat, that you did not read the entire chapter, thus forming your opinion from half...a quarter, I feel renders anything said not necessarily invalid, but also pointless in ‘constructive’ criticism – and I use ‘constructive loosely here (especially when a comment made is that ‘it would be more ‘readable”).  I’m not sure how four people can be confusing, nor can I understand how, and I will be exact here, one can be confused with four given names, three nicknames associated with those given names (Ie. Max – Maximilian, Fritz – Friedrich, Matti – Matilde), and two surnames.  As for feelings and emotional responses; I’m sorry that it doesn’t beat you over the bloody head with each and every sentence referring to how ‘utterly awesome’ the other one is while otherwise leaving a vacant slot where the MC is.  This one is not supposed to start happy, is not supposed to be cheerful and happy, this is supposed to be a dark start, a bleak future cast. 

Perhaps because of my closeness and pride for Blood and Honour, maybe it’s not as bad as I think, but to me, this review was not constructive, this felt like full on criticism and, at some points, quite mean spirited.
