Title:  The Yankee’s Nephew and the Philosopher’s Stone
Summary:  What if Petunia Evans went to work for the US Embassy instead of Grunnings Drills?  I borrowed a few characters from my original story here, changed them slightly, and put them into the HP Universe to replace Vernon Dursley.  Harry will grow up in a different environment, with exposure to magic in the Muggle world.
Feedback:  Feedback and constructive criticism welcome.
Fandom:  Harry Potter universe, with later JKR works considered where appropriate.
Pairing:  None for this story, the “main” focus characters are eleven year olds with no “unusual” circumstances to cause precocious romance.
Warnings:  Some violence and light cursing possible, but SFW.
Solo story or chaptered story:  Chaptered story.  This story will end at the same point as the canon HP&PS.

Chapter five has been revised as “Music, Romance, Magic, and Transitions.”  The story link is the same.  Beyond correcting minor errors, two sections have been added, so that Chapter six can start with the 1982 Hogwarts Express run.  I’ve also edited chapters 1-4.  A secondary character who was previously killed pre-story is now alive, although he won’t really be seen until later, since he’s a fourth year when Harry starts Hogwarts.  Thanks in advance for reading.
