Original fic, rival families

Looking for an original slash fic (M/M). I can't remember the title or the character’s names and I might have some of the plot mixed up. 

But I remember that the main character was a boy, maybe noble that was pursued by what I think was his step father (?). Said step father ended up chasing him out into the snow and stabbing him.

The romance was between the boy and another character who saved him after the stabbing. And although this character cared for the boy, he was also the killer of the boy’s father. 

I thought the title was something like “Abandoned”? Anyway, does this sound familiar to anyone?
