Older story about a girl and a tentacle demon from a mirror

I'm looking for an older story about a girl who goes to an abandoned building (maybe a church, but I can't really remember) and finds a mirror.

IIRC, there are legends that warn about the mirror, or something like that, and she didn't believe them.

Anyway, a tentacle demon comes out of the mirror, and attacks, and drags her back into the mirror just as she comes, shattering her mind.

I think I read it once, maybe twice, but I haven't seen it since.
