Hit Counter Reset?

I noticed that one of my stories, Heart of the Forest, had its hit counter reset almost completely. I am just putting this heads up here in case it's a larger issue. I don't particularly care but it looks kind of fishy since it has ninety whatever rates and only forty hits.

We've seen that with a few, and that had to do with the rewrite of the hit counter itself. Why it only affected some stories, but not the bulk of them, I'm not sure.

BOOOOOO! I just found that my fan fiction story, [Kim Possible] "Afternoon affair" view hits went from 74K+ to 134.

Here's how I'm fixing this:

I look up your stories in the subdomain in question.

I compare dates, and take the adjustment from the stories in the date range of publication.

Thanks for the effort DemonGoddess061. (Don't be offended) Still not right though. I was so looking forward to reaching that 100k mark sooner, but how can I prove it? Crap happens.

I have no way of verifying what the actual hit count was for the story, which is why I came up with the method above.

Hey DemonGoddess -

I have the same issue with the story "The Best Of..." in the Draco/Hermione sub-cat. It was 1877x when all the trouble started now it's 234. Been up for months. Hope your backups will allow an update to something closer.

That kind of change does affect what stories get noticed/read - especially when you roll off the first page of a sub-category.

Provide me a link to the story so I can have a look please. As I said, this really only affected a few stories.
