Assuming Mitsuki is Toneri's son. We know Toneri liked Hinata and wanted to marry her so its not out of the realm of possibility his son would have the hots for her too, like father, like son.

Mitsuki has only just arrived in Konoha but the moment he sees the wife of the 7th Hokage, Hinata, he lusts after her, he decides that she is his goal. He becomes friends with her son, Boruto, in order to get closer to her and at some point goes round his house and meets Hinata properly for the first time.

Take it where you want from that, a fic like this would not a lot of build up for it to be realistic though, but I think build up is just as important as the climax. Its the journey, not the destination.
