Darkalley_Muse Posted June 22, 2015 Report Share Posted June 22, 2015 Hello, new to the forums though occasional visitor to the archives from back when a friend of mine was a rather ravenous reader here. I'll try to keep this brief, as I tend to be long winded when nervous. What am I looking for in a beta? Someone willing to give my first story a glance and give me an opinion on how I'm doing wrestling this beast into the ground. Definitely someone comfortable with all the tags, even when coming from an author more than mildly horrified at what he's typing. It already looks to overrun my word count goal of 200k in it's second draft (4/5th done), so I'm mostly just looking for a second opinion on the plot and characters to add to my rewrite goals. I'll save the spelling and grammar fixing for when I have a more finished story to refine. The story is entirely original. So I'm pretty much solely to blame for all the elements of what you would read. I've actually been at this story so long, I'm not entirely sure what I have on my hands anymore. The plot literally twisted out of my hands in a few places and ran off in new directions. In general, I'd say it's a horror/fantasy in a modern setting with a very erotic/porn method of telling the plot and character development. I make no assumption if I actually pulled that off though, expecially since it's my first story let alone erotic story. Hence the need for a second opinion. The story revolves around the lives of a family being overrun by a demon and the beginnings of the demon's agenda within their community. In brief, all but one member of the family are changed into pseudo-demons and have to face the pitfalls of their new nature. I actually have a lot more plotted after this, but I think the current plot could stand on it's on if it had to. Tags - Listed off the best of my memory, ? by ones I'm not entirely sure about. Rape, Minor1, Minor2, Violence, 3Plus, Abuse, Anal, Angst, Bestiality?, Bi, Bond, BP, CR, Dom?, F/D, H/C?, HJ, Hum?, MC, M/F, M/s, Oral, Preg, S&M, Slave, Solo, TF, Tort, M/F, F/F, M/M? While not in the standard tag list I found, I think vore might be a good warning tag. People do get eaten, mostly not depicted too graphically and only once in scene though. So yeah, more than a little horrified as I wrote this so I'm not sure if it is actually a horror story or just my experience with it coming out my head. I wouldn't mind reading anything a beta still reading this might have, but not a necessity. If we can agree that this thing is worth seeing the light of day, any beta helping me will be credited when I submit it to the archive. And rest assured, it will happen if we agree. It has eaten a good 6 months of my life, I'll make this story cry uncle yet! Oh, and thanks for reading this. Now if you'll excuse me, I shall return to being driven mad by this thing.
