DemonGoddess Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 So, here I was, working at the same place for the last 2 1/2 years, no intentions of going anywhere. On the 5th, we found out we MIGHT be closing. By the 10th, it was a certainty. Needless to say, this last week I've spent the vast majority of my time chasing after what needs to be chased after when one is initially unemployed. First and most important being, of course, keeping some form of income coming IN on my part. Bunch of other bullshit I've had to do, and a bit more yet to do tomorrow, but most of it is now done. The good thing out of all this, is that I will get what is for all intents and purposes a bit of a paid vacation, as it looks like the property owners are intending on reopening, and KEEPING the original staff. I won't know that for sure 'til a bit later in the week tho. So, I am, of course going to be looking for work as well. ugh. Quote
NinjaGaijin Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 That's gotta be tough... what with the world recession and all. Hope you get what's best for you. Quote
Saitochan Posted May 19, 2008 Report Posted May 19, 2008 I'm in sort of a similar situation now. I work as a freelance translator for various places, but it's been almost five whole months since I had my last job. I call my employers every once in a while, but they say they don't have any work for me until another two or three months. Damn it! What am I supposed to do until then? Quote
