When do you update your fanfiction?

  1. 1. For multi-chaptered stories, you like (or tend) to update...

    • On weekends
      1
    • On weekdays
      1
    • Don't really care
      8
    • Other
      1
  2. 2. When you update, regardless of the day it is, you update...

    • In the morning
      1
    • In the afternoon
      0
    • In the evening
      3
    • At night
      3
    • Who gives a damn?

  3. 3. Have you ever seen a difference when you update a story at different times?

    • Yeah, the day and time of the update really affects the increase of the hit count
      1
    • No, the hit count increases in pretty much the same regardless of when I update it

    • WTF were you smoking when you thought of this question? I want some too!

Hey there. Call me whatever you want, but I've seen I tend to get more hits and reviews when I update or publish a story on Fridays or Saturdays, between 3 and 8 PM. You think that makes sense? Am I just imagining things?

I've never really paid attention to the hit count, so I can't really comment on that, but I almost always upload at night. Not particular about the day.

All I can say is that it doesn't matter when I update. My Snape/Harry story seems popular and I always get a ton of reviews no matter what day I update.

I update whenever I am usually done with my chapter.

Most of the time it is in the evening of any night.

I don't really notice the hits very much, they probably do go up depending on when the readers are reading the stories.

I've never paid attention to it and I update the second I finish a chapter, though that tends to be at night that isn't always true. I imagine the reason why more people read fics on Friday and Saturday is because they have more time on their hands.

I tend to update mostly at night or in the early morning but that's only because I'm a night owl and I tend to get most of my writing done at night. There really is no rhyme or reason to when I update. When the chapter's ready, I post it.

I tend to get most of my writing done at night, but depending on how late I'm up I'll wait until the next morning to do my edit on the story. So it really varies when my stories get posted. On average I've found that I get about the same number of hits no matter when I update.
