A boy is found after being in the system for a while. He is taken to his home planet and is claimed to be a sub by a doctor. The dominant can punish the sub and he has a brother who abuses his sub. It is later found out that the doctor gave him something that turned him into a sub. I think there was aliens and people who could turn into cats or dogs. There is a side story to this dealing with a man who owns a ship and is running away from his mate; who is an alpha. The owner of the ship sleeps with a crew member while running away.
