Unable to log on

I have been an inactive member for years. I have a story submitted that I would like to update. I tried logging on and it would not accept my login. I tried the new login and it didn't do anything. It says something about cookies, but I don't know what to do about that. Sorry, I am not computer savvy. I would just like to get back into the site. Step by step would help. Thank you.
