I tend to sway towards hg/ss hg/lm or hg/dm for pairings but if its well written I'm open to others. I also like fics where Ron turns against Hermione for whatever reason and someone swoops in to help her. Preferably one of the above listed. The first that springs to mind is Inside the Blackest Heart. Tis amazing! It is quite long though and it is definitely a dark story at times. It is Severus/Hermione but Malfoy is also mentioned. There are a few alternate endings which is nice. It is not a Snape and Hermione get married and live happily ever after fic.
