From what I remember it starts in our world with a girl/young woman that receives a ring from an old man (later turns out to be Gandalf). When she falls asleep, she wakes up in Middle Earth (around Rivendell). The woman has a close relation with the Hobbits and she is the 10th walker. Legolas and her first sexual encounter is in Lothlorien. In the end she dies, but she wakes up in our time/world and Legolas finds her there, having waited for her all those years.
