DemonGoddess Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 See, here's my problem. As far as I know, it's points system is not compatible to the store. I'm looking at different ways to do this, and hopefully can find a way to transfer the points from the store to the battle mod. Anyway, what this mod does, is basic adventuring type stuff. You can attack another player, use potions to heal, that sort of thing. It can be set up to have clans that you belong to so that the clans can battle each other, all kinds of stuff. I'm thinking this one would be lotta fun for the gamers here, I know there's quite a few Should I look further into making it so that it'll actually work here? Quote
Lore Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 I personally think so! I belong to a few forums with that system and it's pretty fun. Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 14, 2008 Author Report Posted January 14, 2008 Yeah, I'm installing it to my own forum (as soon as I can get my damn machine back from hubby....he's playing on it right now even tho THIS machine can play his game perfectly well ) to keep us occupied until we find a game to replace the one we used for years. Have a good prospect being released this spring. There, we have no use for the store, but the other mods we do. Quote
DarkInuLord Posted January 14, 2008 Report Posted January 14, 2008 You should play FFXI with us (Girlfriend and I). >.> Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 14, 2008 Author Report Posted January 14, 2008 no gots any more gaming consoles my kids have 'em now. So, I only have computer games Quote
DarkInuLord Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 FFXI is the MMO one, it's on the computer, PS2, and Xbox 360. >.> I play it on the computer, since I can't imagine playing a MMO without my keyboard and mouse. xD Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 15, 2008 Author Report Posted January 15, 2008 no real time for a true MMO either, dammit. But that's okay. here are some of the features in the battle game mod--- steal points in battle, as long as you win lose XP as well as HP if you lose a battle in the shop for the mod, you can buy weapons, potions (that do various things), even a phoenix down HP and strength are increased as you level up. There is a bar to display XP, as well as what you need to advance to the next level Guilds would be set up to where once you have enough XP and points, you can join a guildhouse. If you already belong to one, you need to resign from it first. There's more, but I'll let you know that after I install it and play around with it some. Quote
DarkInuLord Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Sounds fun, but I think it'd be mean to attack everyone on the forum. x3 I like j00 gaiz. So I think I'll end up just picking off all of the inactive people. :3 Is there a list of users that I could use? XD Quote
Araneola Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 I will never leave the forum if that goes up! Quote
Guest Jaxxy Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 I will never leave the forum if that goes up! I'll be here for hours a day if that goes up, too! Oh, wait, I have to be here. Oh well, point is, OMG I LOVE FFXI! though I never have time to play it anymore, either -hooks a thumb back over her shoulder, indicating AFF- I miss my COR... So yeah, I'm glad others like this possible new mod, cause I dew, sure as there are little kittens. Quote
DarkInuLord Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 >.> I has only a level 24 red mage, but my friend's got a 30 Corsair. xD And a few people in the shell have 75 corsairs. Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 15, 2008 Author Report Posted January 15, 2008 I never played FFXI, but I've played D&D games for YEARS. Wargaming sims too. Quote
DarkInuLord Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 I never played FFXI, but I've played D&D games for YEARS. Wargaming sims too. I played D&D with my dad and brother when I was 9. xD Haven't really had enough people who want to play, to play since... Though, my girlfriend has some friends that play it, and she goes over and plays every once in a while. Sorta weird when a bunch of girls play D&D. o.o Quote
Guest Jaxxy Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 Sorta weird when a bunch of girls play D&D. o.o Haha, yeah, hard to find even one girl that does tabletop, let alone a whole herd of 'em! I played AD&D for forever myself, like for... seven or so years religiously. I was the only chick in a flock of boys though -- a very interesting role, good times, good times. COR is my main job on FFXI, haven't played for more than two hours since probably February. She's a redheaded Mithra (not the crayola red -- ikk), lvl 58 (subjob RNG -- I refuse to lvl NIN -- how might one be a Pirate/Ninja? Black ships?). You'll never guess her name. What server are you guys on, DarkInuLord? I'm on Garuda. Quote
DarkInuLord Posted January 15, 2008 Report Posted January 15, 2008 I play on Ifrit, but I was thinking of starting another character on Ragnarok to play with another friend of mine. But I should really focus on my one character, almost two months and all I have to show for it is level 24 red mage, and 13 white mage. xD Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 15, 2008 Author Report Posted January 15, 2008 I've got some further looking to do, but it looks like I found another mod which allow me to bridge the points. In other words, all the points that are banked in the store, you should be able to transfer using this mod, to the rpg, which has an entirely different points field. Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 16, 2008 Author Report Posted January 16, 2008 dammit. The mod that I was hoping would fix the points thing I was looking at won't work. ugh. Anway, here's the next thing. I could change the settings for either the arcade or the casino (or both), so that the points accrued using them are available to use in the battle mod. Quote
DarkInuLord Posted January 16, 2008 Report Posted January 16, 2008 Oh, changing the Casino to that would be cool, maybe get into the RPG spirit by picturing your character doing the gambling? xD I don't know.... Honestly. >> Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 17, 2008 Author Report Posted January 17, 2008 Still pondering it. Thing is, there has to be a way to get points into the mod, so.... Quote
DarkInuLord Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 You could always just leave the battle system with it's own stand alone points system. =/ Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 18, 2008 Author Report Posted January 18, 2008 Well, I installed the battle system to my own forum. Interestingly enough, it allows me to set the point field. (Wasn't sure if it WOULD). So, I have a question in to the mod writers, in that I want to be sure that if I change the field from its default point system to the store point system, if it'll screw up the modification or not. As long as it won't do that, I should have it installed in the next day or so. The one thing I'm not happy about is that if I do it the way I want, it increases the query count in topic view. Not TOO much, but I busted my butt decreasing the query counts as it is. So I have to play around with that a bit. Quote
Guest Zyx Posted January 19, 2008 Report Posted January 19, 2008 What's with the attack limit? >_> I was just going to attack you DG >_> Quote
DemonGoddess Posted January 19, 2008 Author Report Posted January 19, 2008 it's more fair to make it so that we are ALL limited insofar as the number of attacks per day. No one gets more than the other. Quote
Zimarah Posted January 20, 2008 Report Posted January 20, 2008 I like this thing. Awesome additions to the forum lately. Quote
