LisaT2525 Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 Can AFF have two authors with the exact same name? Spelled the exact same way? I just came across an author in the Originals. She (or he) just became a member and she's using the same exact name as an author who has been writing on here since 2008. I was just curious. Thanks. Lisa Quote
RogueMudblood Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 We have no restrictions on pen names, so yes, two authors can have the same name. However, if you'd be so kind as to point out the accounts, we can verify if they are in fact duplicates. Quote
LisaT2525 Posted August 5, 2012 Author Report Posted August 5, 2012 Oh I know they're not. When I saw the name today I got so excited, b/c the person I thought it was hasn't posted since October! So I clicked on her name and noticed this person just opened an account yesterday or today, I don't remember. And she only has this one story up. The other girl has a few stories in her profile. The pen name is SweetSurrender. And the original SweetSurrender has been a member here since 2008. Quote
DemonGoddess Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 It's fairly common for a user to re-register, thinking they have no account here. This is why I merge over 300 people a month....ROFL Quote
LisaT2525 Posted August 5, 2012 Author Report Posted August 5, 2012 Haha, well don't merge those two accounts Demon, seeing as they're two different people. lol =) They may not like that.haha Quote
DemonGoddess Posted August 5, 2012 Report Posted August 5, 2012 We don't base a merge decision solely on an identical pen name. We do have to be able to tie the users together before I ever get to that point. I've seen users with identical pen name register as many as six years apart, and it turns out they're the same person.
