kiix Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 I would love to hear your thoughts on the subject. As the follow up after the fight is being bitchy right now to write. SPOILER ALERT!!!!! OOOHHHGGGAAA OOOHHHGAA Summary: Lord Emperor Claudius the First VS Blood Emperor Xavier the First Sex and Sasha have an all out battle then ends up almost demolishing the newly build Warehouse. As they are both winged vampires, they take to the skys and seem to be evenly matched. Sex finds out that Skell has been blocking most of their power accidently and frees up a power spike. In the end, they are both knocked out of the sky, only Claudius is truly knocked out. Sex saves him from going splat on the ground. So both are laying there unconscious. Who is the winner? Is there a winner? Quote
madlodger Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 I voted Claudius. Even though Sex was the one to unleash the power and save the unconchious Claudius from death. For some reason, I like the idea of totally illogical twist, like Sex would win the battle and MAKE Claudius the Head of the House of Assassins, and in doing so assume control over both. Not quite sure how that could be explaned if it happened this way. Quote
K.for.Kiix Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Admittedly not what you're really asking for but here my thoughts anyway. I think Sex should resign as head of the house but neither am I happy with Claudius being it. They currently are the Emperor and the heir to the throne (not counting the winglets for apparent reason) and I think in modern times it is neccessary to sustain a certain separation of powers (the hunters surely agree with me on that point) + both will have all hands full with OW and ruling the nation. They shouldn't bother themselves with the house but have it in their back-pockets. So that would leave Marcus a candidate for the position as head. Otherwise Marcus wouldn't go undisputed as royal consort and and and, so I'd prefer Hades as head. Why? Firstly, he practically is the House and knows the business well. Secondly, who would dare challenging Hades or openly flinging mud at his reputation; and last, it would keep him and Liam occupied AND useful to the Emperor. Honestly Liam was doing a poor job as PA. I seriously hope he comes to some conclusions on the stone of punishment. (Poor William) Quote
kiix Posted September 24, 2007 Author Report Posted September 24, 2007 K and the Destroyer of Nations (originally posted in Rants) How do you stop a train? How do you stop Darth Vader? How do you stop Superman? Well you derail a train. You use the Light side of the Force. You use kryptonite. Whatever you do will leave that item and icon in ruins. Now, why did I start off saying that? Skell -- Our lovely, newest edition to the Brotherhood of Von Drachenfeld is all of the above. He is the product of his raising. He has suckled on Orel Wessel’s withered teat and has learned that force and pain are acceptable means to an end. He can snap a Vampire’s neck without a second thought. He can beat down Lycan because his “sense” of honor was besmirched. He is a mixture of the Brotherhood and at the same instance he is his own individual. Have I lost you yet? Skell’s value system is at the opposite end of the spectrum of Xavier. Even Azrael’s own values do not go as far down as Skell’s. (Which is why Az can’t be Hashmalliam) And the final kicker is that Orel Wessel taught him to follow the letter of the law/rules, and that was a lesson he has learned hard. Case in point, Skell was late for curfew and Darius was killed. So to him, rules are in place and they must be enforced – with whatever means necessary. [The ends justify the means mentality.] K as always has made me think – yet again. Q: I’m starting to find it more difficult to follow ‘your’ of the brother’s reasoning. The whole last chapter is a testament to their incapability of ruling the Nation. They are mixing House, family and court-affairs. That is not a good thing for an emperor…” Now, the Brotherhood has never been given the Lord Emperor’s dummies guide to ruling. Liam who was supposed to be assisting them, basically turned into a sex freak and ended up in Hades bed before Orel Wessel took advantage of Sex’s little meltdown. Why is X giving Skell the run of the mansion, so to speak? Gratitude and Guilt. He is thankful that Skell survived and in turn kept the fallen brothers alive for five years and he bears of guilt of falling under the onslaught. Sex did a little freefall and is under harsh and severe sanctions. Az, well he’ll do something and X will call him on it. Skell…Skell is acting on the brother’s darkest desires and they are letting him. This cannot continue. Skell has had little to no socialization skills at all. He is an immortal entity with unimaginable powers now that he was feed and blooded up. I think the only Vampires who could possibly stand up to him now are Claudius, as Carnage and Hades. Claudius might have the get of jail free card because Sex loves him and Skell admires Sex as the original brother and as the Christmas tree of their pod. Hades would get hand of lighted without a second thought. (Flambed little shepherd boy with a charbroiled lambchop on the side.) Skell laying down the law in such a harsh and unforgiving manner is setting a formidable reputation for Lord Emperor Xavier the First. This is going to cause a ripple effect through the Vampire Nation leadership, the Hunters, the Eastern Lycan and the rest of the Blood Nations. And…as K pointed out “To the outer world they are one. Their acting so differently makes them appear unstable – a nut case.” The Vampire Nation has lived through one fruitcake of an Emperor in Sigmund. I doubt that they are willing to go through another batty Von Drachenfeld, even if there are four-in-one. So Skell has set the House of Von Drachenfeld on the path to Emperorship whether the other brothers wanted to take over the ruling of the whole Nation or not. But please remember, at the Brotherhood’s core is the desire to save lost fledglings from Orel Wessel. This just might not be the best way to get there. Give me your thoughts….as always. Kiix Quote
K.for.Kiix Posted September 24, 2007 Report Posted September 24, 2007 Hi Kiix, And the final kicker is that Orel Wessel taught him to follow the letter of the law/rules, and that was a lesson he has learned hard. (...) So to him, rules are in place and they must be enforced – with whatever means necessary. [The ends justify the means mentality.] OW might have taught him to follow rules, but why isn't Skell doubting those rules? I mean, he already realized the OW's actions regarding him and the coven fledglings were wrong. Why doesn't he doubt the rest of their teachings? He had a rough upbringing and little to no socialization skills, but he isn't a psychopath and he sure as hell is clever. Skell laying down the law in such a harsh and unforgiving manner is setting a formidable reputation for Lord Emperor Xavier the First. This is going to cause a ripple effect through the Vampire Nation leadership, the Hunters, the Eastern Lycan and the rest of the Blood Nations. How would it? In which way is he laying down the law? To the whole rest of the Nation Liam is nothing but a PA, who got a promotion into the bed of his former boss. William is without significance. Aside that, he is punished within the House and the House keeps it's secrets well. His punishment doesn't affect the rest of the Nation. I still think, the brothers are on the wrong turn. The House is not the Nation and shouldn't be used to carry out judgement regarding the court or the House of v.D. I hate to say it, but right now I'm of the opinion Xavier has to stand up and take the role of a leader as well as the role of the elder brother. Letting Skell get away with everything out of a wrong sense of duty / gratitude doesn't do him any good and is affecting the Nation badly. If I was him, I firstly established a state-structure. - Confirm the Council, but make a few changes. Give every house a seat. Give the covens a seat! Take the role of an assessor, who in case the council can't reach a settlement is given the final vote. - Officially divide the House of Assassins from the court. Xavier can't stay first and Emperor. Such a mixture drives wedges into the unity of the Nation. Everybody could rightfully assume the Emperor isn't open to all parts of the Nation and only defending his own interests. Especially the covens. The House was killing them off, the former Emperor was mowing coven-fledglings down. Why would they trust his spawn? - In his role as Emperor Xavier needs advisers aside from family-members and he needs to keep track with the other races. Maybe the races can establish an annual convention (with armistice during it's duration) were all concerns etc. can be advanced. In the current situation at least the Lycan/Weres, humans and vampires have common interests. A starting point? Currently the brothers gather enemies and split the Nation. They should keep at least two of them occupied. Give back Hades the House (with Marcus as first) and establish Thomas as head of the Council. Aside from occupation thus cuts the ground from under them if they attempted to gather allies against the Blood Emperor + Xavier can keep eyes on them. Again, if Skell keeps on with Hades the way he does, he better kill him now before he causes trouble, but that probably leads to Liam killing himself, being reborn and kick the brothers ass. So he better concludes peace with grandfather/uncle. [You know I love Honeybee.] This time it's definitely Xavier, who has to grow and overcome his self-doubts. Accept the guilt, bear with it but don't let it stop you. So much for now. Thank you for answering! K Quote

kiix Posted October 1, 2007 Author Report Posted October 1, 2007 K Nothing to go into hiding over. Well at least I don't think so, but then again, I was trying to kill off Claudius. And you know I almost got flayed over that one. Things are just going to get a little more twisty. Maybe a little darker. *snaps glow stick* Just in case. Quote
