He knows he's changing their emotions because different colors appear around the person in his head. In the story he has sex with Pansy, Hermione, Fleur and Narcissa. At some point Hermione dies but her spirirt lives in Pansy's body- or something like that. Harry makes Ron violent. Harry makes Draco act on his feelings for his mother.
