JayDee Posted February 17, 2011 Report Posted February 17, 2011 Hi, I noticed that with the move to the public domain, one of the stories in the Oz section is using character detail from Gregory Maguire's book Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West: http://books.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600005755 In particular, the name Elphaba for the Wicked Witch is not in the original book, and the fanfiction as a whole appears based on the background details for characters in Gregory Maguire's work. While Gregory Maguire's book is obviously based on the public domain works, I am not sure if it would need to be moved to the main Books section with a different disclaimer reflecting the input from the new book/musical(I suspect it may have done originally before the necessary top level re-write?), as I don't think that Wicked: etc is in the public domain.
