Snape and Lupin have a BDSM relationship. Lupin likes to be the one punished, after Sirius breaks into the castle Remus feels so bad about having been his friend that he demands that Snape be brutal with him because that's what he needs. Snape refuses saying the request is nothing short of rape, but Lupin conviences him to do it which afterwards leaves Snape nearly broken. Remus appologises for making him do it but is still happy that it happened. Snape suspects that Remus is helping Sirius and fears Remus will leave him for his old friend. I also remember there is a scene that follows the book where the map insults Snape, Remus plays along hoping it will make Snape want to punish him more later that night. If anyone can help I would much appreciate it. Quote
