The only fic that I've read and remember there being adoption was The Sins of a Father on AFF. It's a kind of controversial story about Snape marrying Lily when she leaves an abusive James. Snape adopts Harry as his own son, but Harry loves Snape as more than a father, and they eventually start a secret relationship. I'm not sure if that would fit your description, but even if it doesn't, try it out. It's a really good read, and its complete! Quote
