Guest chibi4president Posted August 6, 2006 Report Posted August 6, 2006 I'm looking for some new anime series to watch. Does anyone have any suggestions? The amazing dynamic anime fan, Chibi Quote
StoryJunkie Posted August 6, 2006 Report Posted August 6, 2006 well, here's a few I've watched. (aside from Sailor Moon, Inuyasha and Naruto) I noticed you've already mentioned Ruroni Kenshin Samurai Deeper Kyo and Fruits Basket The Vision of Escaflowne (old) Samurai 7 Gokusen Samurai Champloo (a little weird) Hikaru No Go Cowboy Bebop (silly title, good story) Scrapped Princess (same as above) Mai Hime Mai Otome (same characters diff storyline as Mai Hime. Mai Hime is better) Bleach (okay to a point) I couldn't get into Hellsing or Trigun, sorry guys. I tried. Quote

Thanks for your suggestions SJ. I'll check them out. Quote

redsliver Posted August 6, 2006 Report Posted August 6, 2006 I hate a lot of stuff, however both Full Metal Alchemist and Cowboy Bebop are excellent, they both have endings and good villains. There is nothing worse than a shonen manga like Naruto, Bleach or One Piece that is never going to end. That said, I love One Piece it is my all time favorite, but I wouldn't recommend it for the reason I won't recommend Bleach or Naruto (and I read both). Oh and despite the hype Naruto is going straight in the shitter, even if you ignore the filler episodes that the series is taking over a year to do the manga is getting less and less entertaining. Another good series is Gantz, it suffers from the lack of decent villains and the monster of the week-ness but the characters are very likeable plus no one is sacrosanct, no one is safe and that fear that your favorite characters are going to die makes the show/manga very sweet. Emi Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 What is your preferred genre of anime? :x That might help with me suggesting some anime series. XD Quote
Guest chibi4president Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 Comedy, romance, drama preferably historical fiction, maybe. Something with people and not machines or monsters as the main characters. I'm pretty much open to anything. But no mecha. Absolutely no mecha. Quote
Guest Serenanna Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 From the shojo romance files: - Fruits Baskets - Kare Kano (manga, anime wasn't as good) - Ouran High School Host Club (anime is excellent! and it's a comedy too! borderline yaoi as well.) - Mars (manga only) - Saikano (brother reccomendation, story of a boy and his cute girlfriend . . . who's a destructive killing machine) - Mai Hime (reccomended if you like yuri too with your het love triangles, and drama, but since you said no mecha . . .) General good anime: - Full Metal Alchemist (Yes! Go with the manga too!) - Escaflowne (mecha, yes, but . . . it's easy for me to overlook) - Negima (go with the manga, funny and more borderline hentai) - DN Angel (if you like pretty boys) - Fate/Stay Night (was a game, now an anime, pretty popular) - Welcome to the NHK (only seen the first episode, my brother is holding the rest hostage, but it's an anime about otaku's . . . yeah, and it made me question my sanity between mad bouts of laughter) You know, it's kind of ironic since you use Rei of EVA in your sig but don't like mecha? Meh. Quote
Guest chibi4president Posted August 21, 2006 Report Posted August 21, 2006 You know, it's kind of ironic since you use Rei of EVA in your sig but don't like mecha? Meh. Now that you mention it... That was kinda random. I just thought it was a good picture. I mean, I knew it was Evangelion but... By the way, I saw the first episode of Mai-Hime and it was great. Maybe mecha's okay after all...Thanks. Quote
Guest Emikochan Posted August 31, 2006 Report Posted August 31, 2006 Fushigi Yuugi!!!!!!!!!!!!!
